Chris Lofton's Jersey to be Retired on January 14th.

Featured Replies

Congratulations to Mason County's Chris Lofton. Loftons Jersey will be retired when Kentucky Rolls into Thompson Boling Arena on January 14th at 12:00 PM ET. I just hope Kentucky comes out of TBA with the Win.

Well deserved for Chris Lofton.  I hope his day gets rained on though.

His day has already been rained on, when UK didn't recruit him.

Was tough considering the class UK had coming in that year.

Its a nice gesture that they are doing it when they play Kentucky. It will be a full house and also maybe to remind the Kentucky fans what they missed out on.

That is the whole point of Barnes doing it when Kentucky comes to town is because Tubby didn't recruit Lofton and he is from KY.

Let us not forget that the class that Chris Lofton wasn't recruited in had 3 McDonald's All Americans.

Correct. Talk about some of the sillier debates ever. And the next guy that wasn't an All American (Ramel Bradley), was a 4 star recruit and - while nowhere near as accomplished as Lofton - was all SEC first team as a senior and had an above average college career. Think he was all defense, too. Not my favorite Wildcat by any stretch, but he wasn't a bum. You would have thought Lofton was a combination of Dwayne Wade and Ray Allen the way many acted about him and Tubby was the only person not able to see it.

Congrats to Lofton!

My memory is blank, who were they?

Got a chance to see Lofton play at The Fieldhouse one year in the regional tournament. Probably the coolest atmosphere I ever experienced in high school.

Rajon Rondo, Randolph Morris, and Joe Crawford. Ramel Bradley was a **** and Patrick Sparks was also signed from WKU, but he'd redshirted.

Lofton was better than all those dudes except Rondo, IMO.

How it played out in college, absolutely. I don't think anyone would debate that.

Had the opportunity to coach in both men's and women's regionals there. Unbelievable venue! Was more exciting to win there than a first round win at Rupp.
