What is your ABSOLUTE favorite computer/video game from your younger years?

I realize this is gonna date some of the folks on here. Like I know @mcpapa was there for the big release party surrounding the first chess board and everything. I hear he was a mean backgammon player back in the day too.

But what did you think was THE best game when you were a kid/teen?

Pacman.

I always like Mrs. Pacman more than Pacman.

I loved playing Mrs. Pacman too but there is nothing like an original.

Dang, this is a tough one.

I thought Super Mario World, with the release of the Super Nintendo, was tremendous. It was a big step up in game play and graphics from the original NES. When it came out, it just felt revolutionary. So I guess I would vote for that on those grounds alone?

Other major shifts in my universe were with the Playstation: Madden '97, Gameday '98, Metal Gear Solid, then Resident Evil. I also remember getting my Dreamcast and NFL2K being a totally different game playing experience. I was fascinated when a receiver first slipped on the field. Couldn't imagine someone being that creative to think to include that.

Good call on the Dreamcast. I played that thing religiously.

The Track & Field game at Tilt was my first stop.  Beyond that, Galaga was next.

As for at home, Intellivision baseball was my jam until Nintendo and Sega Genesis came around.

Tilt!  What a great place.

Did you ever go after it moved to its new location closer to Sears?

I loved Missile Command.

I only seem to remember the one location, just on the left as you walked into those Mall Doors.  Loved that place in my teen years.

Gotcha.  Towards the end if you walked out of the old Tilt and took a left you would walk right into the new Tilt and Sears would be directly to your right.

Does anybody on here dare say that Leisure Suit Larry was their favorite?  ?
