LCA won the lineman challenge by 1 point over FD according to what I am told. 

LCA 7v7. LCA defeated Bryan Station, Boyle and Paducah Tilghman in pool play. In tourney play they defeated Frankfort, Pikeville, Paducah Tilghman and Dunbar. Lost a close one in the ship against Highlands. Went down to the last play. Congrats to HHS and all the schools who participated. I hope everyone made it out healthy and got out of it what they needed to.

Great job winning the 7 on 7 against such a big field. But let’s not get carried away and act like this senior class is somehow more deserving of things than other senior classes in the whole state of Kentucky. They are putting in the work, and that’s awesome. However, the same can be said about many schools and the work they are putting in. Which it is also the same for every school and it is them against everyone. That’s not exclusive to Highlands lol.

Highlands was 8-1 on the day with their only loss was to Ryle in Pool Play. Ryle is very good and disciplined. Will be a handful in 6A.

No actually those were his words in the post I quoted, not mine. 

We need real football to be back ASAP, because we’ve apparently resorted to putting too much stock into the importance of a 7on7 tournament! 
 

 

This has been a historic off season for Highlands. I remember when Dale would go ahead and hang the banner when they did well in 7 on 7.

Nothing wrong with trying to re-energize a program that has needed a serious shot in the arm. These kids have needed to learn how to win again regardless of the setting. Average teams don’t win 64 team tournaments whether it’s 7 on 7 or not. Trophies aren’t given out in July but we will find out a lot in the next month.

My favorite part is the linebackers dropping 7 yards at the snap like they do when the pads are on.

My favorite part was watching Highlands play man 80% of the time, playing as physical as they would with pads and pressing each receiver. Can’t recall a linebacker playing safety.
