That's kind of ironic you saying that, as Amazon just announced they're going to start running advertisements during their TV and movie programming.  But you can avoid it, for a fee $$$$.

This whole "Exclusive" pay-to-watch scenario has a very Un-American feel to it to me.  Being 77 years old, I've grown up feeling like the NFL, MLB, and NBA are public domains, not to be privatized in order to squeeze the last nickel out of the public

I don't understand Firesticks, RUKU, and don't subscribe to any of the privatized providers.  I pay $165 a month for cable and internet and feel that my provider should negotiate on my behalf to provide their customers with NFL, etc games.  It is only going to get worse.

Last season I posted a rant on BGP when the Patriots playoff game was privatized by Peacock, predicting that this is only the tip of the iceberg.  Several times this summer I've turned on Bally Sports to watch the Reds only to be informed that the game is being shown "exclusively" on Apple TV.

Who is representing the public in pushing back against our being held hostage by these companies???

Obviously not my cable company who continues to drop channels and increase prices.

Sadly, we are living in a very SAD era.  What kind of future do your kids and grandkids have to look forward to???

Maybe I should be thankful that I lived through a relatively golden era that wasn't always dominated by the Almighty Dollar, and sold out to the highest bidder.  Maybe I should just resign myself to the fact that there is no loyalty to the city in which these multi-million dollar players play, and the quality of MLB isn't worth watching anyway, and go quietly into the night.  Cause it sure isn't going to get any better.

Sadly, the only way this changes is if people just express themselves with their pocketbook and don't pay for these services for games.  As long as they do, more will migrate to these exclusive platforms.

At this point, if the Bengals aren't on FOX, CBS, or ESPN I'm not really turning on the NFL.   And even then it's only about half the time.

I like most of the matchups but you never know about late in the year.  Most of all, I really like Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime. ?

This needs to happen.  They did the "color rush" a few seasons ago.  Why not a "Throwback Thursday" theme.

I loved the color rush games and of course some teams still do it.  From Wikipedia:

On April 10, 2018, the league announced that Color Rush promotion would be discontinued under the terms of the new Thursday Night Football broadcast contract. Teams were allowed to continue to use their existing Color Rush uniforms as alternate jerseys. Some teams continued to wear their Color Rush uniforms during Thursday nights, and the Browns, who were the last team to have worn their Color Rush uniform debuted theirs on September 20, 2018. The Browns also debuted end zones painted with the stripe pattern found on their Color Rush jersey. Positive fan reception for the new uniforms was so strong that the Browns later switched the Color Rush design to be their primary home jersey, which it remained through 2019.

Although the program has discontinued, the Color Rush term is still used by some teams as a name for alternate uniform designs.
