Green went 5 innings gave up 4 hits and 3 runs as the Reds win 6-3.

Reds split the four game series with the champs. Probably much better than most expected.

I agree, I will take it.

Greene was impressive. Good location on the fastball. Consistently at 100. His motion looks really efficient. It is an effortless looking 100 mph. Breaking ball was pretty good but needs work. His changeup definitely needs work. Very promising future.

It's available on Roku.  Of course that's something else to pay for but it's a one time charge.  Not sure if all the games are available there.

So we use a Roku and I downloaded the Bally Sports app but the games never work on there.  Always says it can't connect or something like that.

I've run into that.  Seems to freeze up and buffer constantly.

Yeah, this really ticks me off.

If MLB wants to build a fan base they'd get rid of the blackouts. It's hard to become a fan or build a fan base if the fans never get to see a team play.

I just read that Bally is going to have a stand alone app coming this season that will allow you to watch in-market games. Hopefully it's not over priced.

Yeah, thats why they are not allowing their games to be streamed on streaming services like YouTubeTV. So all last year and now this year, fans like me are unable to watch games. A few friends of mine are in situations like me and we've all admitted, we just don't care about the Reds as much anymore, primarily because of what Bally Sports is doing.

It will be to my own detriment but I'm not paying to use Bally Sports streaming. They can kick rocks.

It's like MLB hates promoting their own product at times. "How can we make it even more difficult to watch a game."

Crazy early but you have to be encouraged by what the Reds did. The pitching was solid, minus Sanmartin, and he won't be in the rotation long. Even in the game that he dug them an early hole there were a lot of positives. The team battled back and had the reigning ROY at the plate with a chance to win it, the bullpen covered 5.2 innings and gave up 2 runs, you can complain about those things.

The bullpen has definitely improved, and I can say that with confidence early. The "waiver boys" of last year were awful. The Reds are putting together solid at-bats for the most part and that will really help them as the year goes. Running up pitch counts to get to weak bullpens, or even what they did against Jansen can be huge. Not only was not not available the rest of the series, but those guys aren't used to getting to 25+ pitches and that's when you can really make big things happen.

Pham isn't hitting yet, but has such awesome "big league" at-bats. The hitting doesn't concern me a ton because he got a 2-week late start on the others, hitting takes time.

Moose is a concern. 3B is a concern. Hopefully Moran can be more a fielder than he's ever been or Drury can be more of a hitter than he's ever been. Once Barerro comes back that situation is likely better than it is now.

I'm in the exact same boat as you with all that you said.

I actually downloaded the mlb.tv app, got a free subscription through T-Mobile.  I was able to watch the top of the first yesterday, then I received the "blackout" message before seeing Hunter Greene's first pitch.  Super annoying.
