Louisville Hires Nolan Smith as Associate Head Coach

Featured Replies

Nolan Smith has informed Duke he is leaving to take the Associate Head Coach position at Louisville.

I wonder what Coach K would really say about Nolan Smith jumping away from Jon Scheyer.

Nolan Smith always seemed like a good guy in college. One of those players that felt like he was in school 14 years.

Well it’s a promotion, and then there are family ties to Louisville. If it were somewhere else, I think it may be different.

Yeah, they move definitely makes sense but just curious what Coach K would say if we gave him some truth serum.

If Louisville is lucky, he's only here 2, maybe 3 years.  Then he is a head coach somewhere.

Great couple of hires by the Ville lately, can only move forward.

He’s retired.  Who cares what he thinks about Nolan making a better move for himself and his family.  I’ll miss the hell out of Nolan.  He has developed the reputation as a damn good recruiter.  He should fit in nicely with KP.

Coach K would absolutely support him “coming home” and advancing his career. Have you seen the video from earlier this season when he presented Smith with the game ball after the Louisville game?

I heard someone on the radio today speculating if Coach K would coach the Lakers after they get rid of Vogel ar the end of the season.

He’d be better than Vogel.  I don’t think his body can hold up an 82 game season plus playoffs but I could be wrong.

Just something random to discuss on a message board.

Not sure if it was Jay Williams but I saw a headline where he was speculating if Coach K would still be at Duke.
