None of these kids played defense in high school. Very few of them had serious knee injuries before enrolling at a major Division I basketball program. It may have played a factor; we'll probably never know.

Not sure on specific coaches.... I reached out to someone with knowledge of his situation right after the announcement and asked where he was going. 

Their response was that he had already heard from 25 coaches and no clue where he's going. 

I think in a system where he's given more freedom and opportunities to be featured, he can be a really good player. He didn't get that at UK because he was just another guy on a roster full of other top 50-75 dudes. 

I understand Payne called him Saturday and Stansbury was in Falmouth on Sunday.

An article in the Falmouth Outlook listed Louisville,Cincinnati, Xavier,WKU,NKU, Texas A&M, and Virginia among the number of 25 that have contacted him.

This is awesome... I think? I don't understand the transfer portal and how it works. Does contacted mean they have extended offers? Does contacted mean the player has reached out to the school?

I believe it simply means that the school has communicated an interest. I cannot believe they would have extended an offer without seeing him work out.

 

Wisconsin was also on that list according to Jack Pilgram of KSR.

The list of specific schools that have contacted Dontaie continues to grow. Among the latest I have seen are West Virginia, Iona, Notre Dame,Depaul, and Pittsburgh. It will probably be awhile before he makes a decision.

I am happy for him. He should be able to find a great opportunity for his next step.

I want to say he has until May 1st to make a decision if he wants to be eligible this upcoming season.

Thanks, I was not aware of that. He met in person with Huggins over the past weekend and worked out with the Hilltoppers.

If defense is a concern with Allen, playing for Huggins will be a challenge. He is all about defense.

If I'm not mistaken, Huggy and Dontaie had dinner in Lexington last week I think.
