Warren Central & Male both find themselves at the Sweet 16® for the eleventy billionth time in Tournament history.  The Dragons come out of the 4th Region for the 4th time in 5 seasons.  William Unseld's club is on a 14-game winning streak and have 5 players averaging between 9.3 ppg & 14.1 ppg.

Tim Haworth's Male Bulldogs upended rival and perennial state-power Ballard for the 3rd time this season.  The 7th Region Final was arguably the best Regional Championship game in the Bluegrass, with Male winning 82-80 in a Triple Overtime nail-biter.  The Bulldogs are led by junior forward Kaleb Glenn.  The 6'6" Louisville commit averages 21.9 ppg & 12.7 rpg, while shooting 64.9% from the field.

Who comes out on top in this clash of State Tournament titans?

Last time we played Male at State they had Michael Bush and Lavar Carter (I believe that was his name).  We lost in OT with a team that would win it all two years later. We always play the 7th region

Central falling short on rebounding right now. Can’t allow Male second chances.

Last time we played Male at State they had Michael Bush and Lavar Carter (I believe that was his name).  We lost in OT with a team that would win it all two years later. We always play the 7th region tough but have had a lot of last minute/second heartbreak. Hopefully our squad from WC can finally pull one out against the 7th!

Warren Central is 10-5 in the opening round of the Sweet 16. In those five losses, only one was by double digits, that coming against Madison Central in 1987. Their 2013 loss to Montgomery County was their only other one by even more than do it points. This is obviously a tough matchup, but I’d be mildly surprised if they got buried.

This is a great matchup, just unfortunate it's in the opening round. I'll take Male, 72-65.

Yep, right around here, 10-12 margin, and perhaps Male scores a little more than that, but this should be really close.

Kaleb Glenn will be the difference

He's certainly always the difference for them. ?

Yes, I'd say so!

I always seek out your posts, but when I saw that one, I laughed and thought you had morphed into Captain Obvious since we last went back and forth on here.  ?

Male has had a couple head scratching losses so can be beat. They play two good 8th graders which could be a weak spot. Dez Lindsay is a baller that can have a big game.

Male kid is a load, but Dragons are athletic.  Give me WC in a close one.

High. Dawgs split the series with "my" team this season and were impressive. No one has played a tougher schedule to prep for the S16. Athletic gamers all over the court that include maybe the best CO '26 player.

One of the two best games in Round 1. Woof!
