Has anyone in NKY tried shoveling this snow?

I have to say this is one of the most challenging days of snow shoveling of my life.  It is rock ice snow!

I was just out helping my 70 year old neighbor shovel his driveway.  And he works full time.  If he can do it, I can do it.  I will say, this is my workout today...

I'm in Independence, the key is getting to it early.  Shoveled mine 3 separate times yesterday, twice today.  We have the only driveway on the street that is clear.  No salt used, just a snow shovel.

I agree.  

I didn't go at it like you (I don't have anywhere to go, it is more for sport) but yesterday I watched @nWo's weather and the second the "wintry mix" started to give way to snow I shoveled knowing I wouldn't have an underlying layer of ice.  No salt used, just my shiny new shovel I ordered off Amazon.

My neighbor and I have the only portion of street in front of our cribs covered with snow in addition to having the only clean driveways. 👊

We put so much snow out there (nothing hazardous) our neighbors have to slow down and admire our work.

Did it yesterday and then again about an hour ago. Glad I did it yesterday.

I started mine and was about 5 minutes into it when my shovel decided to split almost in 2.    Worked enough to get through 1/2 the driveway.

I am not even going to try to get through the ice. I took a flat shovel, chipped away about 10 feet by 1 foot of the driveway for my tire tread path on each side of the car. That gave me enough traction to gain momentum and get out of the driveway.

You aren't lying.  I shoveled yesterday and it didn't do me any good today.  Today was the hardest shoveling job I've ever had I feel like.  Ice was a massive pain.

Got a new shovel and took another crack at it today.   It was basically 3 inches of ice at this point.   Hands, arms, chest and legs are shot.

Friend and I shoveled at church yesterday.  Arms and back are killing me today.  Just too much ice.  I'll pay some broke teenager to do it next time.

The mistake is waiting days to do it. You have to shovel as soon as it’s done to make it easier on yourself.

It is all in Mother Nature's hands at this point. I am letting the warm temperatures the next few days take care of the ice.
