I like your picks....dont forget about Deron Blasingame. He was a 3 yr starter, a scorer who could really shoot the ball. Led the Birds to 2 9th region championships including the game winner vs. NewCath in 87 at the buzzer. I dont know how far up on the list he is in scoring at HHS but he was a dandy.

Who would be Maysville High School All-Time Starting 5??? that would be hard to choose from

Since no one has posted for Fairview I would have to put Don Rigsby, David Rowe, Bobby Clark, Rick Renfroe, Joe Barker and Jeff Hall somewhere on their list.

Clarence Thompson would also have to be considered. Joe Barker? Were not talking about long distance running here just basketball.:D

I think Stegman (sp?) would have to make my reserve list. Very tough point guard and a general on the court. Glaser (sp?) from the team that finished runner-up in the state would also be on the reserve list. Several good ones from that team.

Bishop Brossart

Cant pick out the best 5

I could name 8-10 more that would run close to these.:ylsuper: :thumb:

For Bowling Green just take their 89 team and for a sixth man how about "Hillbilly Jim"? Yes, that "Hillbilly Jim" of WWF Wrestling fame...he was scrawny (but tall) while at BGHS - not the best roundballer, but ended up making a pretty good name for himself...

For Ballard:

Allan Houston, Al Miller, Jerry Eaves, Jeff Lamp, and anyone other than Brandon Bender

I know that Russell has had many good ones, but I would not leave "Weasel" Ratliff or his brother Donnie Ratliff of the list for Russell. If my memory is correct, Donnie held the scoring record in the old (Russell central" gym and Weasel held it in the new(current) gym. Those two along with Hensly, Savage and Roberts would be my top Red Devil 5. Witn Marvin Meridith (of course) the coach!

Weasel and Donny were both excellent shooters and certainly should be on the list as top reserves. However, they did not posess the quickness and court awareness of Helton and Vanhoose.;)

As I said earlier, I did not want to exclude anyone from the list. There are many more.:thumb:

I would have to put Savage at the top. At 5-11 and playing center and forward he averaged a double-double in points and rebounds. He led Russell over the top ranked team in the state(Ashland 1972) with 28 points to win the region.:fire:

Scott County

G - Rick Jones

G - Michael Richardson

G - AW Hamilton

F - Scott Hundley

F - Frank Persley

Subs - Casey Alsop, Jamie Pierat, Jared Carter, Tyler Hicks, Bud Mackey, Matt Walls, Rodney Haddix, Tim Glenn, Ukari Figgs

Way to go! Maybe the other fellas can add some women to their lineups. Ukari was/is a great player!:ylsuper:

How about Lee Raker?
