I think Oregon losing tonight and UGA as SEC champs would pretty much make undefeated UC a lock to get in. 

The question in that scenario would then be whether the committee puts in a 2 loss Bama or 1 loss B12 champ for the 4th spot.

I think UC is in no matter what now. Also In that scenario you just mentioned. If Bama loses to Georgia, then Notre Dame actually has a chance to slip into that 4th spot. Notre Dame at that point would only have one loss and that would be to the #3 team in the country at that point. So I think a one loss Notre Dame would be in over B12 Champ Oklahoma. Now if Oklahoma State wins the B12, then they may have Oklahoma State jump Notre Dame.

I don't think Cincinnati was going to lose that day regardless, but you could make a case to soften the effects of that loss by the fact that Notre Dame's 3rd string QB lead the team in passing attempts that game.  (I thought he actually looked pretty good considering the circumstances.)  That being said I don't think Notre Dame should be included in the playoffs.  They really haven't had a good win all seasons.  Their opponents excluding Cincinnati are a combined 52-56 on the season.  

Bearcats are in if they win out!  Shoutout to @Walter who had no doubts about SMU!  Bearcats appear to have their mojo back!

One thing that is perhaps being overlooked.  East Carolina is the 3rd place team in the American and really solid.  Have the ability to step up and play well at times.  Lost to Houston in OT and only lost to South Carolina by 3.  Not saying they are great but at home could cause UC some problems if overlooked due to the SMU game then Houston looming in the American championship game.

You aren't the only one who has thought this. I was going to mention the same in the update/prediction thread.

Oh no doubt if Notre Dame gets in it would be more by default, because there would be no other teams that really deserve it either.

Family and I were just coming down the cut in the hill, and I see these lights up in the sky, out in the distance.  When they don't move, it grabs my attention.  By the time we get to the 12th Street exit, I figure there's a blimp up around UC for the game.  Traffic had slowed down at that time, due to merging traffic, so I got a better look.  Then I realized whatever it was, was heading straight for us!

I'm going to guess it was probably somewhere near OTR or there abouts when it did a HARD turn to the west (exposing it's full underside to us) and headed straight back up towards Mt. Auburn.  I know those things probably don't turn on a dime, but the maneuver they did over downtown was IMPRESSIVE.  When it was all said and done, I'm going to say it was easily a 200+ degree turn.  Wish I could've gotten my wife to video it, because we had a front row seat.
