Tied 7 to 7 entering the fourth quarter. Southwestern used superior field position to control the fourth quarter and the game.

Special teams were big for Southwestern in the second half.  The short punts by Pulaski and deep kickoffs for Southwestern left Pulaski playing the whole fourth quarter on their side of the field.

Another big difference was Southwestern's defensive front against the Maroons offensive line.  Pulaski couldn't give Polston enough time to let plays develop.  He either had to take off or go straight to the check down right away.
