Last year, it was the first time in my 20+ years of watching football in War Memorial that I saw a white hat overturn a pivotal call in the 4th quarter of the Murray/Mayfield playoff classic.  I watched and re-watched the play and it was a legal block not a blind side that spurred the punt return for a TD.

If you ever played at War Memorial for/against the Cardinals in the last 30 years... It is very well known that Coach Morris carries a lot of respect (weight) on the sidelines.

 

That same crew officiated Murray/Caldwell Co last week.  Penalties were: Murray 12-96, Caldwell 4-30 ?

I made a post about Coach Morris working the refs earlier in the year and caught a lot of flak for it, so basically building off that to work the feathers of my cardinal friends a little. However, I do believe if a coach could get the refs changed it would be him. Just part of the Morris mystique.

Let me add I have no idea who is reffing or which team is upset about said refs.

Reference my previous statement...  you aren't the only individual that thinks/sees this.  The "Morris mystique" is alive and well.

I do want to also mention, I have the utmost respect for the Mayfield program and I know many of the kids.  They work hard and have built a winning culture.

I thought he was done for the year. That would be huge for Mayfield if he can play. He is a difference maker on defense.

Really sad for him he’s a really good player, thankfully he will have next, but he has now torn an ACL twice, he tore one last year as well. I am not sure if he tore the same ACL twice or is he tore both.

Looks like its going to be cold, windy and wet. I wonder how this will effect both teams?

You would think it would favor Murray but it was cold windy and wet last year when they came to Lexington in the semi's and that didn't workout too well for them.

Bad weather would be better for Murray - they don't pass the ball. They have thrown 39 passes this entire season. They threw zero passes in their win over Mayfield.

I think that had to do more With Lex Christian being a much more talented team.

Murray had the turnover bug vs LCA….  Even on the Tigers best day, I don’t think they would have beat LCA.  The Eagles were on a different level in the Semis… Too bad they had the turnover bug in the finals.
