Dixie is a dark horse and a big question mark. Dixie has been so up and down this year it’s hard to pick them past second round. Only down 10-0 going into 4^th quarter of Cov Cath game so they had a shot, offense stalls defense is tired… loss. Only team to hold Beechwood to 21, had a shot there, penalties killed them driving to take that to OT. Only lost to Ryle by one point with no kicker and essentially two back-up linebackers in the second half. They have shown flashes of brilliance and absolutely been their own worst enemy at times. They have the defense to make a run for sure but I am comfortable saying they should be possibly lower on this top ten list just because of the inconsistency.

That's a bold prediction and would be a major upset.  What kind of defense does DC have?

I would be shocked if DC beat X (assuming the two teams play). 

With that said, anytime anyone in Kentucky beats X, T, or H it is good for Kentucky high school football.

If both teams get there I could see this being an exciting game. I could see St. X giving up quite a bit of yards, but once the field shrinks will DC be able to get TDs instead of FGs? Also, St. X would lean on DC on the offensive side for four quarters and could DC be able to with stand that for four quarters? 

IF this game happens it would be exciting though.

I appreciate the confidence, but.....the only common opponent is Owensboro (both with Wimsatt).  Both appeared to be good games as well.  However, DC couldn't get the job done at home, losing by 7, yet St. X went on the road and pulled out a 13 point victory while missing multiple defensive starters for a good portion of the game.  If the 2 play, St. X wins by 2-3 TDs while playing at home.  I could see it being close for a half maybe, but St. X would simply have too much for DC in the end.  Still wouldn't be a bad season for DC.  They would be 11-2 with a district title and that's just 1 year after going 3-5 and being bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs.  I'd take it.

Very small chance of anyone beating X until they play Trinity or Male.

When Owensboro played them - like butter.  X will be the same.  X will run down their throat similar to O.

DC can test X's secondary, but the pass rush will give Humphreys problems.  I think DC gets some yards and some points, but ultimately won't be able to stop X.  The ranges for me on this game are 55-14 X to 42-35 X  (hi-low).  I would lean toward the high end.  About 49-14 or 42-21 X.

One thing that I don't see a lot of people considering is how much harder st.x will have to play in their district them DC. Louisville schools beating each other up at a playoff energy level may take a toll this late in the season.

I think of it as the opposite, X is battle tested every year and when a team like DC steps on the field with them a lot of it is new so to speak.

Plus battle tested from whole year schedule. I look forward to to DC/X matchup but have to face Manual first who is tough because have good defense.
