NKY 5A District Playoffs

So far you basically have said injuries only matter if it’s happens to Highlands and why you discount early losses.  Now you try to bring up close losses to justify what with the RPI exactly? If that is the case then Cooper has 2 less losses than Highlands, and also only have one lost too that was by more than 8. So you want Highlands rewarded for losing more?

It’s simple if Highlands would have beat Conner they would have been the 2 seed. Shoot even if Highlands still lost to Conner, and would have beat Covcath last week. Then Highlands would have been the one seed if they had beat Covcath last week. So if Highlands ends up the 4 seed because of the RPI, it’s because they didn’t take care of business on their own. They will get a chance to show it in the playoffs though.

Hey you have to play them anyway.   I will state that was a poor performance by Cooper and would prefer that match up.

Not a CCH fan, but I will jump in with an answer to your question - NO! The question back to you - Why did CCH schedule Ryle the last game of the season? My answer to that is this game is wh

No one is going to scrimmage at this point in the year. The way this year has gone for Highlands, the bye might not be a bad thing because of the changing roles of players late in the year. They get a

All I’m saying is that I don’t understand the RPI. Losing by 1 point to the 1 seed, smoking the 2 seed, and having a far more competitive schedule doesn’t seem to add up. That’s all. Obviously they have to prove it. But explain the math.

A far more competitive schedule just isn’t true. Highlands schedule may be only slightly tougher than what Cooper has played. Also you talk about smoking the 2 seed.  At the same time Highlands lost to the 3 seed in Conner, the same 3 seed Cooper beat by a lot. Cooper also beat another team in Dixie who also beat Highlands like Conner did.  It literally works both ways, or in this case 3 ways. Since Conner could say they beat the team that just beat Cooper. Hence, why it is a 3 way tie.

George Rogers is 3-6. Madison is 3-7. Butler is 1-7.

I don’t even know who these teams are.

Who are Great Frontiersmen?

Highlands and Cooper played basically the same schedule except for 3 games. Which one of those 3 games for Highlands was against a 2 and 7 Simon Kenton team. So basically comes down to Highlands played only two tougher teams than what Cooper played. Hence, why I said Highlands only played a slightly tougher schedule. Even though you tried to make it sound like it was drastic. While also ignoring that Highlands lost to two of the common opponents that Cooper beat. So the talking about the schedule doesn’t help your argument, when Cooper beat two of the teams that Highlands lost too on their schedule.

Believe the best 4 wins are counted and it’s goes by the number of wins those teams have.. I will take a look at this in a few.

That is how the tiebreaker rules use to be. That was replaced when the RPI came around. RPI is now what is used for 3 way ties.

People may not remember, but it also was a three way tie last year for 2nd between Cooper, Conner, and Highlands. Last year Highlands beat Conner, Conner beat Cooper, and Cooper beat Highlands. Which the RPI was the tiebreaker last year too, and Conner was the 2 seed, Highlands the 3, and Cooper 4.

This year it was just the exact opposite results of last year in those games, which has led to another 3 way tie. Which it looks like this year it will be Cooper the 2 seed, Conner the 3, and Highlands the 4.

Cooper will be the #2 seed. Neither Conner nor Highlands is close enough in RPI to catch them.

The tie between Highlands and Conner has no RPI drama. It is very simple. Conner will be #3 if they win and #4 if they lose.

If Conner wins, they will get a good boost in RPI for beating a team in a higher class, 6A George Rogers Clark. If Conner loses, their WP will decrease to .510255. They will also lose points in OWP because GRC has WP lower than Conner's OWP. There aren't enough points possible in OOWP to offset the impact of those two. If Conner loses, their RPI will drop below .5 and Highlands will still be close to their current number of .51727.

Really doesn’t matter. Highlands comes out of this region in the playoffs. Colonels Cougs or Jags any field. Nobody wants Birds coming off the bye week round one. Highlands is going to be healthy and ready. Go Birds!

Took the words out of my mouth El Diablo.

Here is a Scoreboard Stumper question:  Has there EVER been a 4th seed that has come out of this NKY District before to make a run?  I am assuming not in the last 30 years with the recent dominance of Cov Cath, and then the Mueller Highlands years....

Could be the first maybe.....
