Ohio State 59 Akron 7

It will be interesting to read the Bucks faithfuls comments after this one. Right guy calling D, right QB, great retirement by K'Vaughn,.....and a REALLY weak opponent. First thing I thought about with Pope was Corey Dillion's ceremonious last PBS exit when he tossed equipment to the fans on his way out.

Not going to stand up for Akron in that regard...they are a not a good team.  However, Ohio State is one of just 15 teams this year to NOT have an FCS opponent on their schedule.  So, while everyone may knock the Zips...at least they are an FBS school.  Darn near everybody else, including Bama, Clemson, Georgia...literally takes it (down) to the next level.

BTW, the 15 schools that do not have an FCS opponent on their schedule this year...

Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC, UCLA, Texas, Stanford, Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Navy, Boise State and Georgia State.

Purdue played UConn... That might as well be considered an FCS game.

It's a bad look and not a good trend recently in players wanting out, but if you're going to be classy enough to do this during a game and then have the tweet he did after the game, welp see ya later!

He’s been trying to quit for 3 years, it finally boiled over.

Dismissed from the team, on scholarship through the rest of the fall semester, and access to all the same student-athlete services. Seems like the correct way to handle this by Day.

100%, Day is truly a players coach.  He’s younger than most of the players, parents.  Day will give him every opportunity to succeed.  It’s been a rocky stay for Pope, I hope he can find somewhere to start next year and I hope he does well.

I haven’t been impressed with them all year.  I do think we might have the best RB in the country, we can ride his coattail until December.

I think they will eventually figure it out at some point on both sides of the ball. Too much talent not to.

Having an elite RB can help mask a lot of issues...and I don't think they really have that many issues. Just need a QB who can be a game manager instead of star and they'll be fine.

They also need some stability on the defensive side of the ball.  Their strength there is the D line.  The big guys need to start controlling the line to help the very young back 7.
