My friend doesn’t mention the New Albany win above.  New Albany is a Senior heavy athletic 5A school in Indiana.  GS won that game 63-24.

Coach Nick Hart is 94-19 in his 10th season at Gibson Southern.

Based on this post I like Gibson Southern in the game but of course I will be rooting for South Warren.

Coach Hart has done a nice job with that program and helping them get over the Memorial and Mater Dei hump although Memorial bounced them from the playoffs again back in '17 & '18.  I think in 2015 they could have won a state title if not for Indy Chatard and they would have had a really good shot at making the state finals in 2019 if not for their PAC foe Heritage Hills.  That was a good 2nd round game.  I think they easily win sectionals this year in a routes all the way through to the regionals and obviously have a good shot to win state.  By the way, I love the Haub House.  Great restaurant and loved eating there as a kid.  One of the best things in Haubstadt.

Which explains to me why you expect for GS to go to Bowling Green and beat SW.  ?

 

As I said GS is a good football team, great QB.  They were 7-4 last year with the best win at Booneville.  I would fully expect 12-1 Owensboro, who’s best win was Freddie D to win that game - much more speed.  I’m sure GS is better this year, but SW will probably be the best team you face.  
 

All of these teams like GS/Owensboro/Evansvilleteams/Booneville are in the Evansville/Henderson/Owensboro market (TV).  Allen is top notch but South will have the speed advantage.

I was more concerned if the game Friday will streamed live for our fans who don’t  make the drive.

It is not listed on the Sporting Times page, so I'm not sure if it will.

I would call the school and ask them.

I am not familiar with Kentucky playoff qualification rules.  If SW would happen to lose this game would it put them in a sticky spot regarding playoffs?

No it wouldn't.  Basically, you're district record matters the most, then how you do vs. in state competition for the rest of the games, especially if they're a higher class.  It seems out of state games don't really play much of a factor at all when it comes to RPI, which is what matters from the 3rd round of they playoffs on.

In short the more you lose the more likely you are to play on the road deep in the playoffs.  To echo U97, it has nothing to do with getting into to the playoffs only how many home games you may get to play in the playoffs if you keep advancing.

Basically in RPI calculation, losing to a out of state team is like losing to a 5-5 team no matter how good or bad that team is. Just affects seeding in 3rd round and beyond.
