  1. 🏈 GAME PREVIEW | TITANS CROSS THE RIVERThe Gibson Southern Titans (2-1) hit the road for the first time this season Friday night, crossing the Ohio River to take on the Henderson County Colonels (1-2) in Henderson, Kentucky. Don't let Henderson's record fool you. Both teams enter Friday night with some serious offensive momentum. 🔥 Gibson Southern scored 59 last week. 🔥 Henderson County scored 63. The Titans are coming off a dominating 59-19 victory over Mount Vernon, piling up 560 yards of total offense and 31 first downs. Senior QB Caden Rochleau threw for 336 yards and 5 TDs in the win and now has 854 passing yards, 9 TDs and just 1 INT through three games - while adding another 279 yards and 3 TDs on the ground. And he's got plenty of weapons. Peyton Johnson: 29 REC | 399 YDS | 3 TD Elijah Ortiz: 19 REC | 211 YDS | 4 TD Eli Foster: 208 rushing YDS | 3 TD But don't overlook the guys making it happen up front. Ben Reinhart, Nathan Emery, Eli Bodrie, RJ Smith and Owen O'Neal helped the Titans rush for 224 yards last week while allowing just two sacks on 36 pass attempts. On the other side, Henderson County comes home after breaking into the win column with a 63-34 victory at Henry Clay. The Colonels are led by senior QB Brody Belt, who accounted for an incredible SEVEN touchdowns last Friday - four through the air and three on the ground - while rushing for 122 yards. His favorite target has been sophomore Jackson Loveless, who has 16 receptions for 307 yards and 5 TDs. Henderson is also expected to get its "Jack of All Trades," #6 Jack Dalton, back after he missed last week's game. The returning starter was the Colonels' primary running back through the first two weeks, can line up at receiver and also starts at safety. For Gibson Southern's defense, the challenge starts up front. Khale Campbell and Isaac Peach on the interior, with Lincoln Plasse, Reed Luecke and Ben Reinhart working on the edges, will need to generate pressure while keeping the dangerous Belt contained in the pocket. 🔑 THREE KEYS FOR THE TITANS1️⃣ WIN UP FRONT Give Rochleau time offensively and pressure Belt without losing containment defensively. 2️⃣ ELIMINATE THE EXPLOSIVE PLAY Make Henderson drive the field. Don't let Belt's legs or Loveless over the top turn one mistake into six points. 3️⃣ MAKE HENDERSON DEFEND EVERYBODY GS had six different players catch a pass and five different players score touchdowns last week. Make the Colonels defend every weapon and all 53⅓ yards of the field. Gibson Southern has responded to its opening loss to 5A Floyd Central with consecutive victories over St. Pius X and Mount Vernon. The Titans now get another kind of test - take that momentum on the road against a Kentucky 6A opponent coming off a 63-point performance. 🏈 GIBSON SOUTHERN (2-1) at HENDERSON COUNTY (1-2) 📅 Friday, September 11 ⏰ 7:00 PM CT 📍 Henderson County High School Football Stadium - Henderson, KY
  2. Rained out...anyone know of any replacement events before Aug. 1?
  3. Prediction: Gibson Southern 49 Henderson County 7
  4. Henderson County will Play Gibson Southern Sept. 12 2025 at Gibson Southern.
  5. If Manual is proficient in the short and medium passing game...they will find some success.
  6. Can you guys tell me how South Warren is ranked in KY Coaches or Press Polls? I can't make heads or tails of the ranking threads in this forum...they seem to only list matchups for the week.
  7. Maxpreps only knows data and shows that 90% of last year's offensive production was lost to graduation. Mostly QB Tanner Boyd and RB/SB Sean DeLong. In both the IFCA (Coaches Poll) and the AP (USA Today Press Poll), GS is ranked 2nd in 3A in Indiana. http://scoreboard.homestead.com/football/topten3A.htm#load
  8. The game also has a radio broadcast streamed on 89.1 The Bash. https://www.bashradio.com/
  9. All true. Let's just say, based on the up and down nature of Owensboro, I'm not super impressed by a 10 point win over them last week. Hope you get a chance to see Jet Goldsberry compete.
  10. BTW the top PAC teams in my view are better than Owensboro probably most years...as is the SIAC top teams which was made evident back in the border bowl days. neutral field [2023] Heritage Hills (Lincoln City, IN) 31 (61%), [2023] Owensboro (KY) 26 (39%) neutral field [2023] Gibson Southern (Fort Branch, IN) 31 (60%), [2023] Owensboro (KY) 27 (40%)
  11. And Jon Goldsberry....the father of their QB Jet Goldsberry.
  12. I think the point must have went right over your head.
  13. Quick comment on the Boyle County game: After the first quarter with Boyle County is was a 7-6 game with Gibson Southern through the last three quarters. Once GS adjusted to the speed it was game on. Boyle County worked hard to score as I think they wanted to get to that running clock....didn't happen. In terms of this game: I think this game should be a good one....hopefully that god awful announcer, who must have been someone's nephew, isn't on the mic again like in 2021. That guy had to have embarrassed his family for the next three generations that night.
  14. So did Paul McClure transfer in from Danville to Boyle Co or vise versa?
  15. I know very little bout the Rebels. Can you tell me the names of the three Danville transfers? I assume it is well known.
  16. For information about Gibson Southern please see these two links: Here is a season preview by Evansville Indiana TV Station, WEVV, with commentary form Coach Nick Hart about expectations going into this season. https://www.wevv.com/news/top-stories/44blitz-preview---gibson-southern-titans/article_f765c3d2-3ac3-11ee-9494-3bbb9078dbb5.html Here is another season preview in article form from the Princeton Indiana Daily Clarion newspaper. 18. They (Macon Co.) had two stud receivers/DBs that played two ways that really were really well coached. As a team they ran really nice routes...understood how to get in and out of their breaks. They also played with great intensity. That group impressed me. Last year they were the 14th seed....someone can coach over there.
  19. They were there and had set the expectation with the tournament directors that they would only be participating in pool play (I assumed they had someplace to be). That said, we would have been their last pool play game, but they decided they were heading home. Agree...we were all pretty gassed. In Indiana you get 5 competition days in summer so when we found out that Hopkinsville was going to try to do the whole tournament on Friday (due to potential weather on Saturday), we decided to try to find something to do on Saturday as well to utilize all of our days.
  20. Gibson Southern attended two 7 on 7 tournaments this weekend and won both. Hopkinsville KY Best of the West Friday and the SIU Carbondale Nick Hill Tournament on Saturday.
