Gibson Southern, Indiana (2-1) at South Warren (3-0)

Good game here with 2 teams that started playing in the 2021 Season when South Warren won the 5A Championship.  The 2 games played out like this:

2021 – South Warren 42-7

2022 – Gibson Southern 28-24

Last season, Gibson Southern turned the tables on South late in the game and stunned the Spartans in Fort Branch.  This year's game should be equally as entertaining.

The Titans come into this game with a 2-1 record only falling in the Rafferty’s Bowl to one of the top teams in the State Boyle County 36-6.  The thing I admired about the Titans in this game was after Boyle stormed out to an early 28-0 lead, they never quit and played pretty even from then on.  The Titans have defeated their next 2 opponents to come into this game on a 2-game win streak.

Gibson Southern is led by SR QB Tanner Boyd with SR Sean DeLong being a primary target for Boyd.  SR OLB Jack Rose is averaging 13 tackles per game on the young season and will be tested by a good South offense.

South Warren comes into the game with a 3-0 record: most recently earning a good win at a fine Southwestern squad 46-28.  The game was close in the second half until South scored the last 18 points of the game to pull away at the end.  I don't have any stats for this game, but think South did most of their damage through the air and I'm sure talented QB Bryce Button had a big game for the Spartans.

This week's game sets up to be an entertaining one.  Who do you have in this one?

Quick comment on the Boyle County game:  After the first quarter with Boyle County is was a 7-6 game with Gibson Southern through the last three quarters.  Once GS adjusted to the speed it was game on.  Boyle County worked hard to score as I think they wanted to get to that running clock....didn't happen.

In terms of this game:  I think this game should be a good one....hopefully that god awful announcer, who must have been someone's nephew, isn't on the mic again like in 2021.  That guy had to have embarrassed his family for the next three generations that night.

This one is hard to pick.  I kinda think GS will get them again.  They are certainly a very fundamental football team and I like that !  Not sure I'd be braggin about not getting a running clock put on you though.

I think the point must have went right over your head.
