Texas is still making some young mistakes, but the talent level is on par with anyone.

And why isnt he in UK blue??

Give you an example of the reason at the end of regulation. His man has the ball, dribbles to Durants and picks for him as he hands Durants the ball. Lofton does nothing on the pick. He doesn't show to not give Durants and open look at the lane. He doesn't hedge out and stop the drive to the basketball. He became the same as me a spectator, as he let his man set a pick for Durants, and let Durants drive to the lane to hit the shot that tied the game.

That doesn't go for a Tubby-coached team.

That being said, the young man can flat out shoot. I have to say that Texas was either not well-coached or didn't believe the coach when he told them to not let Lofton have any open 3's at any distance. If you don't know that Lofton will hit a 3 from 25 feet and can't take that away from him, then you are either defensively stupid or poorly coached.

My goodness the young man can shoot.

Offensive talent I can agree. Defensively, I don't think they can spell the word, let alone play it. As I said in the other post, how do you EVER give Lofton an open look at a 3 from 30 feet and in?

That 3 he hit with under 20 seconds left was DEEEP!!!!!

That was one of the best clutch shots I have ever seen, If he would have made that to win the game with no time left on the clock it would have won an ESPY...That was huge and great players make great plays.

Like Preston Lemaster, Jarrod Cater, Josh Carrier. They are worked out/ are working out well.:sssh: :D

I think that is a little unfair of Carter considering his situation.

That's where the youth I talked about comes in. More often than not a class with four kids rated that high is going to have to learn to defend at this level...

I understand why Tubby does not recruit Kentucky kids. Who would want someone like Lofton when we had such a talent as Rondo. LOL. I am all for nation wide recruiting but we need a mix of Kentucky kids.

You might want to come up with a better example. Rondo IS a KY kid.

I can't wait until Durant fills out a bit, he's something else, hard to believe he's gained 30 lbs since arriving in Austin. I really like the Garnett comparison but I'd say he's ahead of KG at this point, he's got game, even if Oden doesn't make the jump Durant would make a nice consolation.

Lofton was unconscious the last 5 minutes of regulation.

Texas has to be the dumbest basketball team I've ever seen. Rick Barnes did an awful job of coaching down the stretch. Why when you have a 7 point lead with 2 minutes left are you shooting with 25 left on the shot clock????

OH OH OH. Like i said nobody can guard the kid!:ylsuper:

 enough

Does everyone agree that Lofton could be first team all american this year?

I also think he is an NBA prospect after this season. He's putting up big numbers against the best competition Tennessee has played. A sweet stroke like that?...I'm sure any team in the league would love to keep feeding Lofton kick-outs from the inside. He would go well with Garnett, Nash and Stoudemire, Yao, or even Shaq. His defense will definitely have to improve over this season and next but I think it will be fine. Adam Morrison is just as bad on the defensive end, he was a lottery pick.

Do you think Kentucky will be able to contain him, or anyone from the SEC for that matter? They won't stop him from scoring but if you let him blow up like he did today and like he did against Memphis, you're beat. We can't let him get the basketball bottom line. Rick Barnes is simply an idiot for letting him get the ball. I didn't see much denial in the passing lanes from the Longhorns. It's like they said they would let Lofton beat them and that's exactly what he did.

Chris said that 27-footer was possibly the longest three he has ever made. I'm sure the Knights from Lexington Catholic would have to disagree.

UK..thats why we SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we need a mr basketball from our own state to lead us..maybe we could get a win from a team in the top 100 and beat them by 20..

How long has it been since a KY Mr Basketball has reached the level that Lofton has right now???

I think you really need to think about why we didn't take Lofton. There are many threads about it. I suggest reading them. Would I love to have him yes. But it was the right choice at the time.
