Is there an actor/actress whose movies you either refuse to see or insist on seeing?

Featured Replies

I usually go see anything with Denzel Washington, Ed Norton, Tom Hanks or Christopher Guest.

And as a general rule, if a movie includes a musical performer's first step into acting...I ain't gonna watch that movie.

Denzel is probably the main one.  A couple of Justified alums, Walton Goggins & Timothy Olyphant...I loved their characters so much in Justified that I will give a show a chance only because they're in it.

It really has more to do with writers for me.  Christopher Nolan, Kevin Williamson, & Harlan Coben's Netflix stuff.

It's hard to say there's any actor/actress that I absolutely HAVE to see everything they've done.  However, there is a list on the other side.

Movies will have a lot to overcome, for me to pay to go see them, if Amy Schumer, Melissa McCarthy, Will Ferrell or Jim Carrey are the main attraction.  I'm sure I'll get blasted on how this movie or that movie is the greatest of all time.  They're just not my cup of tea.

I will see any movie with Rachel McAdams in it.   I try to avoid films with Christian Slater and/or Jack Nicholson, since they are basically the same guy.

I have enjoyed every single Will Smith movie that I have seen. I never saw him in I Robot or Hitchcock though. I do not like John Leguizamo or Owen Wilson. I cannot think of a single film with Drew Barrymore that I thought was even average.

I will also watch any Denzel movie.  I will pass on John Travolta and also no Owen Wilson for me.  Not a fan.

I saw E.T. as a kid and thought it was one of the most boring movies I'd ever watched. Went back like three years ago and re-watched it, and I completely completely stand by my original take.

Literally sat there and thought "You're telling me that this movie is absolutely beloved by the masses?"

I am not some huge ET fan but I still liked it as a kid and since I did as a kid, I do now.

But Mac & Me smokes it haha!

Fun Mac& Me fact:

The girl that plays the neighbor girls older sister (Tina Caspary) was the original Kelly Bundy in the Married...With Children pilot.   It tested terribly, so the kids were replaced with Christina Applegate and David Faustino.

Refuse:  Nicholas Cage - creepy creeper

Don’t miss: Meryl Streep, Christopher Walken

Edward Norton is amazing.  Not that Tom Hanks isn’t.  I love him too.

I don’t enjoy Denzel.  I feel like he’s Denzel in every character.

@rockmom!!!!!

You're really not wrong about Denzel bringing Denzel into every character. The most "not Denzel" I can recall was probably in American Gangster, but even still... I guess that's just kind of something I like about his roles. He can pull it off almost always because he picks roles to suit "The Denzel". Except when he did Much Ado About Nothing. The Denzel doesn't Shakespeare.

And btw...I've got some tomato seedlings I've gotta get to you!!
