As soon as Dixie beat St. Henry last night you could see that CovCath/St. Henry coming in the first round. Dixie looks like a big favorite to get to the final; top half is much stronger.

Not so fast.

Who was it that painted Dixie as the region's dark horse in his last review, and has been singing their praises all season long when others doubted him that they were a Top 5 team? 🤫

I would say they are a top8 team now.

Not saying they will, but I’d rank Dixie ahead of Holy Cross, Conner, and Newport in the bottom bracket going into the tournament.

I think HC is coming out. Full team back will be a problem for Conner.

I like Dixie as a dark horse. And it's been proven this season an upset of a top five team can happen. But they've also lost twice this month to currently unranked teams.

The Colonels have slipped in and out of the bottom slots in the BGP rankings three times this year. They're 1-4 against teams that are/were in the Top 20. Looking at the Top 20 pinned in this forum, are you saying one win vaults them to #8 over teams that have been there all season?

The Colonel Athletic Network is covering Cov Cath vs St Henry. They're covering the semis and final too. "Tickets" are $6.

Will any of the 1st round games have video available to purchase?

Follow up on the other three 1st round games.

* Ryle at Highlands ~

* Newport at Dixie Heights ~

"Dixie Heights Athletics" YouTube channel.

* Holy Cross at Conner ~

TBD. I'm guessing the Holy Cross crew might cover this. I don't believe Conner has video streaming. This might be an audio only feed by "859Radio."

will be handling the Highlands/Ryle game, and I believe it will be audio only, but I'm not completely sure about that.

You posted here that Highlands will be broadcasting from: https://www.highlandsathletics.com/

I can’t confirm this, but during their regular season they broadcasted from their Youtube channel, but perhaps from the site you provided they can charge a fee.

The 33rd District tournament was on the NFHS network for a subscription fee if that is any indication how Conner might handle hosting their first round game.

This is great work. You've done a fantastic job with game summaries this season - 'cause you're wired in. Thanks B.

I would assume the CCH/St Henry move is due to fans.  I heard NDA is doing the same.  I don't think the Diocese has lifted the only two fans per participant restrictions so if a Diocesan school hosts the fans list is really small and basically no students. This could have changed but I haven't heard that it has. I would think having a student section would offset the "home court" but I who knows.
