Oldham County names Ta’Shawn McBroom new head football coach

Coach McBroom has an assistant coach at Oldham County and this is his first head coaching job. He's a 2003 Trinity grad, where he played wide receiver and helped lead the Rocks to back to back 4A Championships. In the 2002 4A State Championship, McBroom caught seven passes for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns, setting a state record for most receiving yards in a state-final game.

By all reports, Coach McBroom has a great rapport with the current players, and should move fairly easlily into the head coaching position.

Good hire.  Coach McBroom was my son’s position coach with KY Future Stars & he absolutely loved playing for him.  Good for the kids at OC.

I like the hire. I had heard of a couple external applicants but ultimately I expected someone within the program to get the job.
