You all act like he has only had a team full of one and done everywhere he has been, and is the only reason he ever had success. Yet that simply is not true at all. In fact his resume before he got the UK job, is better than the majority of people of the guys you both have said you wouldn’t mind to have to replace him. Yet you all have listed names of guys, who’s resumes were not even as good as Cal’s before he even got to UK. He single handily turned Umass around, and made them better than they really ever been, even before he got Camby. Then getting one NBA guy in Camby he beats a loaded 96 UK team everyone loved, and made then final four. Which literally took that loaded 96 team to have beat beat his Umass team in the rematch, or else that Umass team wins it all. After he leaves, Umass really hasn’t done a thing. He then goes to Memphis, a program that wasn’t really doing much anymore when he arrived. He went there and eventually built them back up, and obviously made the one title game with Rose. However, he also was making deep tournament runs those final few years without him too and was a consistent top 10 team. He did all of this before he even got to UK. Yet some of you all with your comments, act like this is the only job he has ever had. That he has only had success when he had a team full of top talent of one and done. When that is not true at all, when in fact he was having more success at these other schools. Than many of the guys you want to replace him with. You all list names of guys acting like they are better coaches, because they are winning right now with not one and done. When Cal had already been there and done that, being able to coach up guys and have great success still. More success at his previous schools doing that, than many of these other coaches you all say are so much better. It is fine to not like Cal, or disagree with some of the things he does. However, you all seem to forget he had plenty of success proving he was a very good coach long before he ever started getting so many one and done filled rosters.

Calipari simply rolls out the ball; we all know this. A staff of Brad Stevens, Mark Pope, Travis Ford, Frank Vogel, with Richie Farmer running quality control is coming.

This isn’t Memphis or UMASS. This is the Greatest Program in College Basketball and CAL is starting to show chinks in his armor. I think the game has passed him bye and it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better in BBN.

Well considering you just agreed with a post that said Cal needs players to hide all of his flaws. It sure seems like you are saying he is only a good coach if he has great players. So simply reminding you all, that all these coaches that you all seem to think is a better coach, and doing more with less. Well Cal literally has already been there and done that before too. He also had even more success at his previous schools doing more with less, than many of the guys you all seem to act like as being such better coaches than him. Now Cal does have to obviously show a huge improvement from this year though. He does have to show that this year was simply just an exception and not the new rule for him. However, even your comment of saying the game has passed him by is kind of a weird comment to make after one bad season. Two years ago an overtime away from final four. Then last year easily won the SEC and had a team that was set up very well to make a run. Yet some of you all act like it has been horrible for years now. This year absolutely has sucked, and can’t happen again. However, some of you all truly act like it’s been horrible for awhile.

I think he will add quite a bit more to his game, even going into next year, but right now, he just isn't that good and if he wasn't from KY, no one would be begging for him to get more time. Hit the nail on the head.

If Dontae Allen chooses to stay at Kentucky throughout his collegiate career, there is no doubt in my mind that he will be a pretty solid all around player in his junior and senior year. I think we'd even see a vastly improved Sophomore version of Donate Allen if he sticks around. I think he'd improve quite a bit this summer throughout their team workouts, individual workouts, weightlifting program and etc. Much like Derek Willis did over time. He's just not that good right now, at really anything except being a stand still shooter. That is definitely going to change over time and it would at Kentucky, or if he choose to, or it will somewhere else. If it occurs somewhere else after this season, it doesn't mean it wouldn't have also happened at Kentucky.

It makes absolutely no sense at all and never will, but we keep trying to make sense of it and those that have that mentality but its irrational. Calipari should have earned the benefit of the doubt from fans when it comes to this season not being the new rule for him but our fanbase is obnoxious. Everyone dealt with it but if COVID-19 didn't exist, meaning they got all their traditional preseason workouts, exhibition games and cupcake games, as well as one of their best players wasn't down all damn year, I don't think they are sitting anywhere near 7 games under .500. Do I think they were a Final Four team? No. But Jesus, its irrational to pretend the game has passed him by at this point.

I have said it before, but I think some people truly have never got over Pitino leaving. At the end of the day people basically want Pitino. Even though the teams he put together wouldn’t be realistic in today’s age. The teams Pitino put together in the mid 90s, would have never stayed together and waited their turn in today’s age. What helped Pitino the most, is by him leaving. He left when he was basically still on top. So it didn’t really give the fan base a chance to slowly turn on him, when things may have slowed down, and just overall get tired of him. This job truly is a job a coach maybe should only stay at for ten years at most like Cal originally said. Not because they all of a sudden forget how to coach after ten years, but because the fan base gets bored after ten years.

Spot on as teams at the highest level programs do not stay together. Mid majors? Yes. Blue bloods no. At the highest level programs its really coming down to going to the draft or transferring out.
