No way to argue those numbers as inferior to Hester. Ryans has been a major factor in his rookie year...
December 13, 200619 yr How you can make Hester the ROY is beyond me... Such an argument that Ortiz shouldn't be AL MVP because he plays DH, but it's basically the same argument... Hester isn't on the field enough to be considered IMO... And how you could take him over Bush, Colston, Young, or Jones-Drew just blows me away. Yes Hester does great with the time that he has, but I think you have to take a strong look at those other guys before even throwing his name in.

There is no way that you give Devin Hester the rookie of the year. He has made returns yes, but he isn't on the field for even 30% of the game. Kick returning isn't consistent, and I will go out on a limb and say he doesn't return even 3 next year. There is a very simple plan to take him out of the game, don't kick to him and that's what teams will begin to do......

Plus, he has an NFL record...not just a rookie record, an all-time NFL record. Like it or not, Hester has as good a shot at this award as anyone.

Hester doesn't have near his impact...

Think back at the Wonderlick score(by the way, hardest test I ever took in my life with the time limit), and the greif that got. Some Other Rookies: Bush: 42 points Jones-Drew: 72 points Addai: 48 points Colston: 42 points Now compare how many touches he has compared to the above...how many NFL records to the above own? Imagine how hard it is to return 1 kick let alone 6...and many aren't even trying to kick to him... If I had a vote Hester would win....the Bears would have at least 3 more losses, if not for him, 2 for sure.
