So in 2018, KentuckyPrepGridiron founder Fletcher Long, then living in Hopkinsville with a son on the Hopkinsville football team, wrote a feature on former Hopkinsville High coach HENRY (HB) LYON. Long even admits he has family ties to Lyon.

 

KPG has an AP vote even though it never runs any AP stuff on its site other than the All-State Team and weekly top-10 rankings.

 

In 2019, KPG, by its own admittance, says Long is "former" of KPG. Long moved to Breathitt County and became editor of the Jackson paper (which does NOT have an AP vote).

 

Who, by chance, joined the staff at KPG?

These two are the same person. The guy that started KPG, Fletcher Long, started using the alias "H.B. Lyon" after he moved to Breathitt County. A really good friend of mine used to be one of his followers until he found out some of the things this guy was up to and doing. And he told my buddy that he goes by a fake name so that he can write more stories about his son and people won't be none the wiser. There's not a thing wrong with a man wanting to say good things about their children but when you've taken it as far as this guy has is when it becomes a problem.

Breathitt with 5 players? Are these kids legit or was the voting influenced? What dad are we discussing? Is it the Kentucky Prep Gridiron? Is Henry “HB” Lyon close with Breathitt County football? That’s who I see writing most of the articles for the online service.

 

Most All State/All Star teams are going to be different in some way or the other. But their usually consistent about who's on these teams, meaning they usually have the same players but differ on where they put them. One may have a certain player on their 1st team while the other has that player on their 2nd team.

 

Here's the problem I have with what's went on with the AP the last two years. And I'm in no way disrespecting the kid from Breathitt Co. who made 1st team OL. The kid is a pretty decent football player. But he is not in the same conversation as Dane Jackson, Blake Gossett, Ethan Wolford, Chris Malala, or a Blake Moody. I'm sorry but he's just not.

 

Also, like I said before, usually the top players in the state are consistently mentioned somewhere on all the All State/All Star teams. And the four or five I mentioned are. Most were on the CJ team, the BGP team, the AP's team, and even the other KY football threads team. But this kid hasn't even been mentioned on any of those other teams but yet he's a 1st Team AP All Stater? Come on now, something is just off here. You just don't get overlooked by every other poll out there and then appear at the top of another. I could maybe understand if he appeared as an HM selection, but not a 1st Team. So yeah, I think it was definitely influenced.

But wait, there's more:

So can anyone prove Henry "HB" Lyon actually exists? Would love to get a FaceTime or Skype interview.
