Yes, Noah Hupmann, who is good for 5 pts/5 rebs per game, is out with mono. Reece Murphy was in his first game back after having appendicitis. He had averaged 5 pts per game prior to last night, where he had none. That's a big difference in the team's performance right there.

 

This was a tough game on the road against a solid team, and was Cov Cath's 3rd game in 5 days. Cincinnati teams - especially GCL teams - have all realized they have to bring the A-game of their A-games against Cov Cath on the the gridiron and on the court, so Cov Cath can always count on getting a battle.

 

And for the folks who think refs in Cincinnati basketball don't definitely prefer to see Kentucky teams lose to their home teams, your teams haven't been playing enough competition across the river. I'm not about to put last night's loss on the refs, but they sure didn't make things easier on Cov Cath, that's for sure.

Which probably means Covcath Fouled a lot more than St. X. Which honestly for me is easy to believe. I think many in NKY feel Covcath gets away with a lot of fouls and physical play that should be fouls but don’t get called against them in NKY. They go across the river and they just happened to get called for it.

...except the folks in Ohio and even a couple of folks in this thread comment on how Cincinnati hoops are a "more physical style of play" than Cov Cath is accustomed to (I happen to agree completely with that), yet you seem to be saying something fairly opposite of that.

Have never seen a varsity game where a team has no fouls called it for an entire half.

Are we able to stop beating around the bush and have someone admit that most NKY basketball fans who aren't CCH fans are expressly CCH haters, admit that they think all basketball officials in NKY are pro-CCH and anti-everyone else and other teams get jobbed by every single official when they play CCH, and admit that they reveled in seeing CCH lose to St. X, even though that means a Kentucky team losing to an out of state competitor?

First for me also!

It was quick and honestly I didn't leave there thinking either team had issue with how game was called. Perhaps the limited amount fouls is because style of play. HC gives you a lot of zone looks and little to NO man to man defense. It would be interesting to know if this has historically been the case with HC this year. I know this should be for a different thread, sorry!

Tough loss for the boys against a team they have recently handled, but will only make them tougher in a month...when in matters in Park Hills.
