Like I said earlier, it's just my opinion. I never really like to talk about the officiating either way because there isn't anything you can do about it. I will say this....they are 2 great teams. CCH will make a long run in the State tournament I am sure, if not win it all.

Yes, I disagree on the officiating. It is more about the style of play to me. It's much more physical across the river for some reason. As a result, less fouls are called (both ways) in my opinion.

You're saying that St. X plays more physical basketball than Cov Cath, and thereby they had a fairly astoundingly low number of fouls compared to Cov Cath, with their less physical play and 166% higher fouling percentage in the game?

It's been my experience that it's almost always the losing team (fans) that put blame on the officials. You rarely hear, "we won by 10 but if it hadn't been for those damn refs we would have won by 20".

 

Also, people that blame refs have typically never officiated a game in their lives.

 

My main point is, there are questionable calls that go both ways. Why can't people say that the winning team was just better that day?

 

I'll willingly go on record stating that I've never officiated a game, save for some youth soccer games around northern Kentucky back when I was like 13 years old.

 

I never blamed refs. I didn't read TDD's post as outright blaming refs either. The guys Cov Cath had on the court last night were outplayed by the guys St. X had on the court. There were some factors that added into that, yes, and I felt like I did a fairly thorough job of listing those in my original post. But at the end of the day, the win goes to the Bombers.

I did the Holy Cross/Conner game on radio last night and Holy Cross was whistled for only 4 fouls the entire game, Conner only had 8. The game went by pretty fast I will say that.
