December 22, 20196 yr Final at least the Bengals locked up the #1 seed now guaranteed. The Bengals tried their best to lose the #1 pick. The Bengals went to OT the last time they were in Miami in 2013. They lost that one the only way the Bengals could on a Dalton sack in the endzone.
December 22, 20196 yr Bengals just about gave me a heart attack. Dolphins played soft defense and gave the Bengals a chance. Nice job on the onside kick. Welcome to Cincinnati Joe. Start looking for a house.
December 22, 20196 yr And the other good news, another loss by one score. That sets the Bengals up for an over .500 record next year. That is now 8 games lost within a one score margin. Of the 9 teams previously with that many one score losses, 6 of them were over .500 the next season.
December 22, 20196 yr Author The Bengals score 20 points or more for only the 4th time in 15 games prior to today 22 in the win over the Jets was their high for the season.
December 22, 20196 yr A confluence of events nearly resulted in a perfect storm. PI call extends a drive. A touchdown by an inch on fourth down. Another touchdown. Two 2-point conversions. The first onside kick recovered in nine years. Sixteen points scored in the last half minute of regulation.
December 22, 20196 yr This honestly felt like the 2015 playoff game there at the end except with it being the opposite of what we wanted the end result to be. Just when I was starting to get excited about the possible future for the franchise. The Bengals found away with the smallest of odds possible to make every play possible to get to overtime. That 2015 playoff loss set the tone for these last four horrible years. If they would have won today, it could have set the tone for the 2020s to be like the 90s again. Hopefully though with them securing the top pick, this is the start of change for the better for this franchise.
December 23, 20196 yr Remember everyone that the Brown family is still the owner of the franchise. No guarantee they select Burrow.
