That’s a garbage call! 100% garbage! You have a 5 star athlete running full speed to make a tackle, with the QB adjusting at the last second. Refs gonna try to keep Clemson in it.

If he didn't dip his head and go crown of his helmet to QB helmet, you'd be correct. That was almost textbook targeting.

You're better than the Ref comment, calm down...it's not a conspiracy.

I agree with you! If you want to still make it a 15 yard penalty fine, but don’t throw the kid out for that. That’s why I hate that targeting is automatic ejection. There should be different levels for an ejection.

Refs swung this one. Oh well, Justin and company have to keep on.

Clemson comes back after the targeting call and gets a touchdown to make it 16-7 with 2:45 left in the half.

At least we have a game now.

OSU 16 Clemson 7

Lawrence felt the pressure at the last second and turtled which lead to the helmet to helmet. No way Shawn Wade can adjust when he thought he had a blindside hit.

This first half I agree with you. Total domination, but yet still a two possession game. We have seen plenty of games like this where a team likes miles better and just dominating the game but letting the other team hang around. Then the other team eventually makes a play and it all changes.

This game should be over with how much OSU dominated. Instead Clemson is one play away from making this a game.

I guess I should have also said one bad call away from being back in it. This next possession before half for OSU is huge.

Yep. Only thing he didn’t do was launch into him.

I hate the targeting rule, it’s the worst rule in football, but that was a foul. They’ll call that hit on the QB every single time.

Even if there were different levels...dropping his head and leading with the crown of the helmet into the QB's head, would always be the most severe level.

I completely agree with you. I’m just saying if they insist on still making that a penalty. Then fine have it be a penalty, but don’t throw the kid out for that. Hits like in the LSU deserve to be thrown out, but not this one. These guys play their whole lives to be in games like this, and to throw them out for something like that is just wrong.

A 6’6” QB lowers his head, bracing for impact, and Wade is supposed to stop on a dime and cradle him to the ground. Did you play high school football?

If Clemsons qb was standing straight up still, then no one says a word about lowering his helmet to tackle him. Clemsons happened to tuck down at the last second once he realized the hit was coming. Nothing viscous about the hit or ill intent. If it needs to be a penalty still fine, but a player who puts in all this time should not be ejected for a play like that.

Now Dobbins hurst his ankle and Clemson gets their first 3 and out.

Chase Young got his helmet ripped off on the targeting call with no flag. I know some of you saw that on the replay.

This thing turned around quick!
