UofL defense vs. UK offense... weakness vs. weakness.

 

UofL offense vs. UK defense... strength vs. strength.

 

Louisville's going to need to find a way to get those big plays on offense that have made them so successful this year.

 

The Virginia game seems the best analogue to this one from Louisville's schedule so far. Took everything Louisville had to hold on at the end.

 

What's comparable on Kentucky's schedule? Who had a lousy defense but a pretty good offense?

Has that line dropped since it first came out? I think UK wins mainly because of its lines. UL will score 3 or 4 touchdowns, I believe, but UK's running attack will prove too much for UL's DL. I like Satterfield's play calling better than Gran's, acknowledging that Gran is severely limited wth no passing game. UL QB Cunningham is a decent runner and I believe UK has had their trouble with running QBs this season. I think the motivation advantage lies with UL. I am hoping for a good game but I think UK ekes out a win.

Can UL stop 15 or so down hill rushes, then a bunch of Bowden scrambling around? UK’s offense is like backyard football against the best kid on the block.

I’ll say Louisville by seven.

I think UK wins in a 42 35 game. I don't think UL can stop the UK running attack. That being said, at the beginning of the year this was UK's 8th or 9th win and UL was looking at a 3 - 9 season. Cards are way ahead of schedule.

Will Louisville design a defensive scheme specifically to Bowden. There should be a spy on him on every play.

Using the SP+ numbers as a guide, Mississippi State is an interesting one. They're more well-rounded (with the No. 39 offense and No. 59 defense as opposed to Louisville's No. 29 offense and No. 89 defense), but it's a start. That said, State's style is nothing like Louisville's and SP+ is great but can't account for matchups particularly well.

 

Also comical how Tennessee and Missouri could qualify as the bizarro Louisville. Volunteers have the No. 23 offense paired with the No. 79 offense. Missouri is even more unbalanced, pairing the No. 15 defense with the No. 84 offense.

The game plan is simple... Put eight in the box and make Lynn Bowden beat you. If you do that, and he beats the best offensive team UK has seen this season, then you tip your hat to the young man and commend him on a good game.
