1A State Championship: New Cath 37 Danville 34

Great game indeed. Talk about a game of extreme momentum shifts!!! Danville played with a lot of heart, but just couldn't stem the tide in the 4th quarter. Even though Danville, reeled off 27 straight points, I still felt NCC was truly the best team on the field tonight. They had an excellent offensive line and did a good job of mixing the pass with the run. Though it was a heartbreaker to lose a 17 point lead in one quarter, it was still a very fun game to watch. All in all a superb show from two superb teams.:thumb:

I just watched the highlights of the game on wkyt news. What a night Vickers had...Wow! This kid is for real! NCC my congrats again on a TEAM victory. When you were at Raceland a couple of weeks ago your players, coaches and fans conducted themselves with respect and class. This championship that you have won is well deserved.:thumb:

Unconfirmed but believed to be true:

1. NewCath by finishing 10-5 now has won at least 10 games in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006

2. The 5 losses is the most by any KY State Champion.

3. NewCath first State Championship team to win all 5 Playoff games on the Road.

Highlands lost 14 games in 2004 and won the championship. :D :D :D Sorry, couldn't resist.

Ah, yeah, but only according to the KHSAA, Not on the field or in district court! Hey, we can only fight them were they are willing to play us!:flame:

I can't believe that after going to the game and watching and shivering through it that I am sitting here at 3:00 in the morning listening to the radio replay . I got more goosebumps listening to their call on Vicars' last touchdown than I did sitting there in the cold and watching it live .
