South Oldham hasn't lost a game since week one of the season. Will the Dragons continue their winning streak against a top ranked Class 6A team? Or will Central Hardin prove too much?

Should be good game. I’ll take Central Hardin in a close one.

Saw Central Hardin vs North Hardin. That was a very good game and Central Hardin is a very good team. This should be a tough game between two good opponents with different offensive schemes. South likes to run first and set up the pass. Central appeared to pass first. Both play hard nose defensive football.

Taking South at home on Senior night in a tight one!

Looking forward to this one. This will be our final regular season broadcast as we head into the playoffs...and what a doozy. Two top 10 teams from 6A and 5A. I'll be doing my homework this week and will send out a preview in this thread shortly...

Both teams seem to be on their "A" game heading into this one... Both teams could use this as a "signature" win to propel them into the playoffs....both have had opportunities, but both fell just short in a loss (the only loss for either team). Central Hardin lost, 7-0, last week to a higher-ranked 6A team (North Hardin) and South opened the season with a heartbreaking overtime loss to then-#1 Class 3A power Christian Academy of Louisville.

A win over a ranked opponent would be a huge boost to either of these teams.

Keep in mind, Central Hardin top running back Deonco Wilkerson is still recovering from a sprained ankle and won't be 100%. Starting LB Trent Hill who has 45 tackles on the season and has been out for several weeks with a cracked bone in his foot will not play in this game.

What's the story on CH's season? I know a lot was expected of the Bruins before the season started, and they've delivered on the field...

I love this game for South Oldham. It's a good barometer of where they're at after several lopsided games and a huge RPI grab if they can get the win.

I have looked forward to this game all year....

Central Hardin vs. South Oldham live video The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN beginning at 7 pm ET tonight.

Both teams ranked #6 ( in 6A and in 5A).

Both coaches with superb records (South Oldham's Jamie Reed, 10th season, 89-30 .748 and Central's Tim Mattingly, 6th season, 51-22 .699)

South has won 10 games or more four consecutive seasons and appears likely to make it five straight. The Dragons haven't won fewer than 8 games since 2011 when they went 6-5. South has had 10 straight winning seasons.

Central Hardin has won 10 or more games 3x in the last five years and is close to a fourth.

Both teams rank in the top five in scoring and scoring defense in their classes:

6A Central Hardin #3 scoring at 41.4 ppg and #5 in scoring Defense at 14.2 ppg

5A South Oldham #4 in scoring at 45.1 ppg and #2 in scoring defense at 4.7 ppg

Both teams rank in the top 10 in 3 of 4 offensive and defensive yardage measures:

6A Central Hardin is #5 in rushing (232.4 yards/game), #5 in passing (215.8 yards/game), and #4 in passing allowed (92.9 yards / game)

5A South Oldham is #9 in rushing (240.6 yards/game), #10 in rushing defense (81 yards/game), and #3 in passing defense (47.2 yards / game)

Individual stars:

Central Hardin: RB Deonco Wilkerson is #11 in 6A with 807 rushing yards (10 TDs)

quarterback Chase Elmore is #4 in class 6A, averaging 211 passing yards per game.

receiver Gavin George is #3 in class 6A, with 1,039 receiving yards (9 TDs) He also leads class 6A on defense with 9 interceptions.

South Oldham Class 5A

receiver Ethan Bednarczyk is #9 in class 5A with 526 yards receiving (9 TDs)

Kicker Connor Langford has made more PATs than anyone in 5A, converting on 51 of 52 PATs (98.1%)

The South Oldham defense is #1 in class 5A with 18 total interceptions on the season, with 8 different players grabbing at least one.

Hard to find the advantages for either team, but if there is an edge, Central Hardin may have it based on age/maturity/experience. Based on the info I have, it appears CH will start only one underclassman (a junior OL) on offense, and one on defense (a junior DL). The rest are seniors. Of course, seven Bruins start both ways...

If it's as good as the matchup appears on paper, it could be great.
