Greg Oden

Coach K has also really talked this kid up too. He and Matta say he's a very coachable kid and strives to get better. I think he will play even better now that he's been forced to work on using his left hand these past few months.

I have seen Oden play here in Indianapolis since his Freshman year and I would tell any of you that he is that good! He may not average 20 points a game but he will block many shots, alter many others and rebound the ball well. He just may end up scoring 16-17 a game with Conley and Cook to get him the ball. This kid is really that good albeit against high school kids he played against the best in the nation consistently!

Lurch will play today against Valpo...

Got my Sporting News in the mail today and they have ranked their top 30 college players. Oden is picked as the 4th best player in the nation. Top 5 are:

1 Tyler Hansbrough

2 Glen Davis

3 Joakim Noah

4 Greg Oden

5 Ronald Steele

I'd rather have one Joakim Noah as to have 5 of Glen Davis. The same Goes for Greg Oden. Those guys are much better than Big Baby imo.

After todays performance against the Cats, I have to believe Hansbrough is overranked as well...If he's the #1 player in the country, look for nx years draft to be a ton of foreigners(sp?)...

This is a surprise. Hope he's not pushing himself to come back too soon, though I doubt Thad would let him.

IMO Oden will be one of the best centers in college in the last 10 to 15 years. He can do everything very well........:thumb:

He's rt. handed, and shot left handed, and put up those kind of numbers? :scared: :scared: Were they all dunks?

Thad said that he made 17 or 18 free throws in a row one day with his left hand.

He sure looks like it. Are we Robert Parrish hasn't resumed his career under the assumed name of Greg Oden?

Wasn't Granville Waiters about 40 when he left OSU?:D

I was at the UC game and haven't seen any highlights yet. Matta said that with 6 months of work left handed only, he's now just as good from either side... :scared:

Wow. I'm assuming this is the first Granville mention in the history of BGP. Bravo to you and , yes, he looked like he was carrying an AARP card while a Buckeye.

I was at the "Rock and Roll" shootout in Cleveland the year both UC and UK played, and actually met Granville. He looked exactly the same as his playing days at OSU. He was one of those guys that seemed to play a decade in college. Funny this made me think of him.
