I see your point and ask that do you feel Boyle County should get the exact same points for beating Danville 59-0 as Allen County Scottsville if they win by 3 points?

 

Or on a higher level, let's assume Boyle and Johnson Central are going for seeding and share a common opponent, lets say it is Moore. If Boyle goes on the road to Moore and wins by 42 and Moore goes to Johnson Central and loses by 6. Even though they get the exact same credit for that win, let's now say Johnson Central edges Boyle County by a decimal point and as a result it means Boyle has to go to Paintsville instead of JC coming to Danville in the Semi-Finals.

 

To me there should be a bonus for winning margin as well as a bonus for road win that went to Boyle.

 

I think that margin of victory is too big of a factor to ignore.

 

I think there should be a cap on it though. Whether you win by 35 or win by 65... I think that should be weighed the same.

IMO Calpreps continue to get better as the season continues (as will the RPI I would assume), but Calpreps are much closer to the BGP rankings which seem to be pretty solid. Since we know that the KHSAA is never going to use BGP as a source, why try to reinvent the wheel as opposed to using the formula that calpreps has already provided, and appears to be much more accurate?

Good question. I wonder if calpreps would charge the KHSAA for using their numbers.

This will even out as you play tougher opponents - I can't come up with the exact number as well, so they are not following their own formula.
