November 28, 200619 yr Not a huge fan of USC, but if I had the chance to play for Pete Carrol I would defentily take it.
November 28, 200619 yr I actually like USC a lot... I usually find it hard to cheer for dynasties and teams that are always at the top... But for some reason I really enjoy USC and cheer for them against everyone, regardless the opponent.. Unless they played UK, and then their SOS would be low and we wouldn't be having this discussion.
November 28, 200619 yr Im not a fan of them but hope they beat the Buckeyes. Id rather anyon e win it but them. I just dont really watch USC alot I have respect for them and they are a heck of a program I guess I just stick to Eastern schools alot. But I will give them props they are the team of college football and hopefully they will beat OSU. I feel Michigan would beat OSU if played again and if USC is better then hopefully they will beat them.
November 28, 200619 yr I think why I don't like USC is because they aren't supposed to be good again... this is coming from someone who has no favorite team in college football, just likes to watch it. I liked USC with Bush/Leinart etc., but now it's like they had their years and aren't supposed to be good enough/experienced enough to compete for the national championship, but they still are.... I guess its kinda like the same reason I don't like Duke... they are good year after year after year and it gets annoying...
November 28, 200619 yr I am not a fan of USC simply bc I dislike them very much and always have:D . I don't like or trust anything in "Hollywierd". Plain and simple.
November 28, 200619 yr I know will get alot of grief about this, but I would rather see USC beat OSU.
November 28, 200619 yr I think a lot of good points have been made, much of which apply to me, such as they keep winning, I don't like Pete, etc, etc. Honestly, something just seems a bit off to me. Look, I think Pete Carroll is a great coach, but I really don't see how he rocketed them to the top(legally). That, combined with news of several allegations, makes me not trust all that is going on out at SC. Combine that with the fact that I think the Pac-10 is weak, overrated, and gets drilled consistently in bowl games(other than SC recently) against quality teams. I don't think its a dislike of USC, more of an overall dislike of everything Pac10 in my case. And that would make sense, coming from a fan of the Big 10.
November 28, 200619 yr I don't think its a dislike of USC, more of an overall dislike of everything Pac10 in my case. And that would make sense, coming from a fan of the Big 10. :thumb: :thumb: Along with big 10 fan I can include SEC fan for myself. Imo the boys out in la la land conference are USC and the 9 dwarfs.
November 28, 200619 yr Why I hate USC: 1. Watching college football is much more fun when you loathe one of the teams on the field. 2. Their mascot is a big ugly dufus. 3. I don't like condoms. 4. I'm openly jealous of their success.
November 28, 200619 yr I'd say because they were a dynasty. Nobody likes a dynasty unless they are from around town.
November 28, 200619 yr Even though they win all the time and are a great team. Heck should probably call them a dynasty. They are that team out in California that is just suppose to win. Aslo they are in a conference that isn't exactly the strongest in the Nation. However the main reason why there is no love for them is because they win and a lot of people hate teams that win all the time.
November 28, 200619 yr Interesting theories. Lots of folks pull for the underdog and against programs such as UK basketball, Duke basketball, Notre Dame Football, Yankees baseball for that reason. Last year the Trojans were being touted as the greatest offensive juggernaut in NCAA history; which is why lots of folks were pleased with the outcome in the title game - they were tired of hearing the publicity and the hype. This year, however, USC was an afterthought. They basically lost their starting backfield Not many gave them a chance to be #2 in the country with one game to go. And that's another reason that they're not much love for the Trojans this time around - they've been in the spotlight for several years in a row, they weren't supposed to be there this year, and doggone it, here they are again, knocking (fill in the blank - Michigan, Florida, etc.) out of what was supposed to be their chance at the title.
