This game is being played in Georgetown. What does everyone think? Does Paintsville have a shot? Beechwood cruises.

Was about to post that a bus ride from Ft. Mitchell to Paintsville could be a difference maker in Paintsville's favor. Then I read that the game is in Georgetown completely flipping the script. BW by three scores will be a solid way to start a pretty daunting schedule before Districts.

Beechwood has had two scrimmages and a week off to audition and put together basically a new starting team on both sides of the ball. For every player except 3 or 4, this will be their first official game starting for Beechwood. With that many new players, it is hard to know what to expect. I'll go with Beechwood struggling early, then getting in a rhythm and winning by a touchdown.

I am anxious to see what the Beechwood Tigers can do this year! They have always had a good percentage of offensive and defensive production coming back from year to year but this year is completely different. They have very little experience coming back and it all rests on how quickly the starters can get acclimated to starting against top notch high school competition. All will be revealed over the next 2-3 weeks to see how they do and how they grow from week to week.

Not hearing much about Josh Derry. Before he got injured last year in 1st/2nd game, I was very impressed and thought he was going to be the Tigers' bellcow. Is he 100%? Guessing he might be 6'2" and 220?

He’s more like 5’10”.

He’ll most likely be a big part of the running game as the season gets underway.

I expect a very big year from Josh once he gets his legs under him. Size wise he is not as big as you mentioned. Probably 5’10” or 5’11” 190. He dropped weight Because he wanted to be a running back. He was a full back last year and about 210 before he was injured.

Beechwood 28-7.

I know one thing that is for sure, Paintsville can’t start this game like they did last week.

I am looking forward to seeing this year's Beechwood Tigers in their first varsity starting action. This team is like that Forrest Gump saying about a box of chocolates. We don't know what we are going to get. This is a year where you trust the program and the coaches to do what they do and lead these young men to being winners.

I can't make a score prediction because there are too many unknowns. I will predict that Beechwood will be well coached, believe in their coaches, play hard, play with class, believe in each other and know in their minds that they will find a way to win this game. That is the Beechwood Way.

BW needs to win this one! If not 0-4 is very likely. Going on the road to Somerset will be tough and I see little chance against Corbin and no chance against CCH. A lot of uncertainty and new faces on the field for the tigers. Interior offensive line is fairly small and on par with your typical 1A/2A school. Very different then what they had up front the last 2-3 years.

In addition to a loss of size, they also lost speed. The speed of Castleman and Odom were game changers that is not being replaced.

BW will be disciplined, well coached and give maximum effort. But this is going to be a very different BW team! They should be fine at the back end of the schedule but this game is a needed victory for confidence.

I’ve seen firsthand, in a very short time, why BW is consistently a winner. Preparation, Conditioning, and Coaching 2nd to none. It’s unreal how detailed this program is. New group of kids, yes. Will most be nervous, yes. But it’s now these kids time to shine. 0-4 start? Maybe. But They will be just fine in the end IMO.

Get your licks in now cuz they won’t be down for long if at all.......

It looks like Paintsville is really young. On the roster they have more freshman than seniors. Beechwood lost a lot but still has a good group of seniors and an experienced QB. That means a lot, especially early in the season, so I will go with Beechwood 31-14.
