This will be a great game. I will have to go with the team from my Region representing all of us . I hope both teams play injury free and represent their program with character.

NCC 24

Danville 20

Both teams have Great Coaches, Great Traditions, Great Programs and Great Fan Support. I think Danville has one more Great, GREAT TEAM SPEED on both sides of the ball. Speed Kills in a game like this. If NCC contains it it will be a very good ballgame, but if Danville gets on the edge or out in the open this game could very well be lopsided. Good luck to both teams, I have seen both of you play this year and have all the respect in the world for both of you. Now go to your corners and come out hitting at the bell.

Here's the article about the suspension of Admiral players from last week.

Since no names are mentioned, I don't believe any should be published here.

I commend Harp and the administration for sticking to their guns. (no pun intended) It's amazing how well the Ads did with Mayfield even without 2 starters. :thumb:

From a ghost of the past, I applaud Coach Harps decision. It is one of the hardest decision. It can be one of the hardest a Coach can make to dismiss players and discipline them even when it can affect the outcome of such important games. This will help make a difference in these young mens lives hopefully. This is the key.

Coach Harp is to be commended, that has to be one of the worst things that can happen to a team, coach the players and the kids who got suspended. It does send the right message though and does so more in this case than in mosts given the timming.

This game has the makings to be a real classic title game. I think without doubt the states top 2 class A teams have advanced. Danville is solid up front but will not find the going as easy as it did with Mayfield because NCC appears to be alot better up front than Mayfield and they have Vickers close to 100% will be formidable. Mayfield tried, in my opinion to formulate a game plan to deal with the fact that Danville was better up front and it found Mayfield getting away from their comfort zone but I think NCC is alot better offensively and if they cant run they are better suited to utilizing the pass than Mayfield. Danville is suspose to be suspect in pass defense but did not seem all that bad to me, not great but certainly adequate. On offense Danville has alot of weapons and much like Mayfield prefers to run but can pass if needed and Harp is excellent at catching teams off guard with a pass here and there to keep defenses off balance. I like the Ads in a close one and if Vickers is not near 100% I think the Ads will have a much easier time of it. But NCC is very capable of winning this one if turnovers plague the Ads. I dont think they had any against Mayfield

Danville WILL win this football game. Newport Catholic hasn't seen speed like Danville's all year. Danville will score on them pretty easily IMO. NewCath is VERY predictable and Danville will smother their run game with the team speed.

I'll predict...

Danville 35

Newport Catholic 14

Do you not know that NCC has played two teams that are in the 3A and 4A finals? So I think they have seen that kind of speed, and argubably seen better speed in CovCath than they will in Danville. NCC will take this game in a close game and then pull away kind of at the end...

NCC 27

Danville 14

Not having seen either team in person this year, it's hard for me to trully predict...Both teams have played tough schedules and seem to playing there best at the right time...From what I hear, NCC is not quite as good as last years team, but, with that said, they could still be very good because last years team was a juggernaught...Danville is very good in the trenches which is supposedely NCCs strength, as well, so, I don't really see either with much of an advantage there. Danville's offense will move the ball and put up some points, but, there defense is succeptible. Mayfield had some big plays against them and moved the ball well, but, couldn't punch it in when they got to the redzone...I would suspect NCC will be more successful given the same scenario...NCCs defense has also been giving up alot of points in the playoffs to what I would think to be lesser opposition then they'll face in Danville...I think this will be a fairly high scoring game and could come down to who has the ball last..Barring equality in penalties and turnovers, I'm going to give a slight edge to Danville....My pick is Danville 34 NCC 31

One final note....I believe either of these teams would win 2a this year..

Two class programs battle it out until the end with the Ads coming out in a close one.....27-21.

Just because they are in a bigger class doesn't mean they have more team speed. They may, but I'm just pointing out the facts. Danville has traditionally been one of the faster teams in the state regardless of class, and they seem to be a little speedier than they have been in recent years.

I'm going to be at this game and I want to stick around for the CCH-BG game (obviously). Does anyone know if one ticket is good for both games or if they are going to clear the stadium after NCC-Danville?

I heard they are clearing house after every game but don't quote me. I am back on BGP and I take the Breds by 14!!

What is the name of the receiver for Danville #1 i believe and what grade is he in?

He sprained a muscle in his ankel and slightly tore a ligament. But he will be 100 % for friday afternoon to beat the admirals!!!!

sprained a muscle in his ankle and slightly tore a ligament? That sounds a little serious; I would think that 100% would be a little far fetched; but I am glad that he is playing.......

Really Belfry beat NCC this year 7 to 6. I know NCC is improved but so was Belfry and Russell beat Belfry 19 to 0 and face off against a Mercer Team that is as good as any AA team in a while. They either one might could win 2a but I wouldnt soudn confident when NCC did loose to Belfry this year.

By the way good luck to NCC. I love what Danville has done but after playing NCC this year they were a classy bunch of kids and a good classy bunch of fans. They really impressed me and it was Belfry's honor to ahve them playing against us. So good luck guys win it all.
