I feel like Varys was desperate to stop what was about to happen. Maybe thats why he did that.

There are so many loose ends that need to be tied up next week. I refuse to believe Bran’s character is finished. I refuse to believe that the white walkers are completely vanquished either.

 

The night king is gone. I'll be surprised if that part of the story isn't over.

Predictions - Tyrion yet again goes on trial for letting Jamie out. Since Trial By Combat has been outlawed he may not survive this time. Not sure how he would get out of it.

 

Jon ends up being the one to kill Dany. I can't see them giving another major death to Arya since Cersi is now dead. Now that Dany has lost her mind Jon will know that he isn't safe since he is rightful heir to the throne.

 

Where is Bronn? What does he do now that Jamie is dead, Cersi is dead, Tyrion is likely to be arrested, and the odds of him getting Highgarden as was promised to him, are pretty slim.

Agreed. His desperation was the best hint we had that Dany was about to graduate from the normal level of violence we've seen from every leader on the show at one time or another to being a maniacal butcher of innocents, surpassing even Cersei.

 

Poetically, it's an interesting moment for Cersei. Before her death, Lady Olenna mused that what cost her was a lack of imagination; she never imagined what Cersei was capable of. That similar lack of imagination for her opponent's brutality is what ultimately cost Cersei in the end.

Lots of my friends like Jon is going to kill Dany next week. I'm just not feeling that.

Lots of people seem mad and that they just didn't see this from Dany. Maybe it's because I haven't read the books, only watched this once and haven't been a diehard for eight years, but I sort of don't understand how people didn't think Dany would do this?

 

The man that loved her the most and she looked up to as a father figure completed betrayed her at one point. She lets him come back to defend her and he gets killed at Winterfell.

She lost two of her babies, one because of people fighting for Cersei.

She lost her best friend when she got her head cut off by The Mountain (because of Cersei).

She seems to really love Jon and wants to be with him and he basically denies her, thus making her choose fear.

Her hand, Tyrion, betrays her and spreads the one secret that she feels can destroy her.

 

Why the heck wouldn't she go scorched earth? She has no one she truly cares about that truly cares about her besides Drogon.

 

I honestly would have had no problem if she burned the whole city down if the Bells didn't ring. It just completely went against her whole character development over 7 seasons. Yes she has burnt and killed many people, all who have deserved it in the past. She had always done the right thing no matter what she went through. Yet now she finally gets what she wants after all these years, because the throne was hers now that the bells started ringing. Now all of a sudden she is a different character and kills them all? To sort of keep with the character development even a little bit. Then should have had her just started destroying the city right away instead of stopping waiting to see if they ring the bell or not. If she had just started destroying the city right away without waiting to see if the Bell rang. Then it could have still played into her character some, because would just show that she would do anything for the throne. How they played it out completely went against the whole series and development. By having her still destroy everything and everyone even though she had won.

I see what you're saying, but in my opinion at times this character development over 7 years was more her depressing who and what she really was over 7 years, not her being some lover of innocent people, at least to me. She did the right thing because she had people like Jorah convincing her to do the right thing. I just don't find it at all surprising that she went mad and I don't feel like it goes against her character development, but I know I'm in the minority.

In Season 2 when she was talking to the chunky trader of Spices outside of the gates of some city, Jorah was trying to tell her to be careful, but she had this to say:

That would have kept with her character of being a hot head and going to drastic steps with people who went against her, and would have still led to the same effect of her becoming the mad queen and having people want to kill her.

 

In this show everyone has been fair game to die, but until this season. The show has done a great job keeping with the character traits of the characters they have built up over the last 7 seasons. I feel like there were ways to keep more with her character ARC, that would have still led to her death in the same way by most likely one of the Starks.

Jorah was more the one who told her about the traditions of the people. She is the one who thought of the plan to free the Unsully and the people. She is the one who came up with the plan to save the people of Mareen. She is the one who decided to lock her dragons up for a year after they killed an innocent farmers girl.She is the one who decided to fly over the wall to save Jon and lose her dragon in the process. She decided to go up North and fight the Nigh King instead of Cersei. Now along the way she did show a hot head for anyone, who did betray her though. Which still doesn't support at all, her deciding to kill everyone after she won. Her furry could have came to those who betrayed her like Jon. Which would have still made her basically the mad Queen, and would have led to the same show down of next week of her against Jon and the Starks.
