Nice game played by both teams. Corbin only loses 5 seniors and stays in double A next year. Look for them to make some serious noise next year.

Russell, celebrate tonight and refocus tomorrow. We know how tough it is to win at Belfry, but the mission continues.

Corbin should be one of the favorites in AA next year. Besides Cashen, #34 was very impressive. So was #20.

This is no slight on Corbin but the final is closer than it should have been. Russell went way to conservative in the 4th quarter. Running straight into a VERY GOOD Corbin defense just was not going to cut it. I thought Corbin had the best defense that Russell had faced all year.

.

So it happened in Flatwoods too? Belfry could very well have beat Middlebsoro by 40+ the way their offense was clicking tonight.

Man next week is going to be an absolute WAR....

Could someone who was there describe what went on the closing minute and change of the 1st half? The Corbin radio guys seemed to be wondering why Corbin wasn't operating with a bit more urgency, and it makes you wonder if things might have went differently had they scored at the end of the half.

Congrats, region champ Red Devils!!

Homework assignment for the Devils this week: fundamental tackle drills,(we missed way too many) and pass coverage (Corbin QB picked us apart). Pass rush seemed to be in slow motion in the 2nd half. I think fatigue was taking over toward the end of the game.

Corbin was taking alot of time between plays but that had nothing to do with them not scoring. They turned the ball over on downs with 20 some seconds to go. They had plenty of time. Russell's Defense just stiffened in the red zone.

I agree with FBALL. There was not a clock management issue for corbin. They had the ball inside the Russell 20 with 40 seconds left. Ran for 5 yards, passed for 3. then had two incomplete passes to turn it over on downs to Ruseell with 19 seconds left.

Yes it did.

Corbin is a very good team and they were committed to stoping the run. But up 2 TDs in the 3rd quarter with 10 in the box throw the ball a little. The passing game was effective all night. Even when Jones had to scramble.(man he played one heck of a game)

Corbin Blitzed and brought everything they had and Russell was content to try to run right at them.

Congrats to Russell on the win. Corbin definately came to play tonight. Great Game. :dancingpa

I have to wonder why Corbin didn't keep running Number 34 until Russell could stop him. Every time he touched the ball he was a load. He alone could have put a hurt on Russell. There QB is exceptional. I would still have Jones who showed tonight he is the real deal just like he does every Friday night. Great job Jones. No touches for Frazure tonight. I'm not sure why but that's just the way it unfolded. He will be needed against Belfry. Once again congratulation Red Devils you make all of us in the community very proud. Thanks.

Kudos to the Corbin crowd as they traveled very well and showed alot of support for their team. :thumb:

Congrats Russell! Stay focused and bring home that title!

Don't feel too bad — Cashen does that to a lot of good teams.
