So, your ready to label a 14,15,16 year old kid as a racist for chanting build the wall. I hope your children are angels when they get to that point otherwise that might take a terrible toll on you. I'll say it again, kids do dumb things.

He was a senior so old enough to know better. This type of " sweep under the rug " and make allowances for bad behavior is pretty much the reason for the decline in our society from people of all different backgrounds and socioeconomic backgrounds.

I have no intention of doing so.

So the school has issued a statement stating that the students were in the wrong.

Close the book on defending their actions, right?

Interesting question.

To stop defending them would mean to admit they did something wrong. Some people will never do that, and the behavior will continue.

Rinse and repeat.

I hope at worst case scenario this incident prompts parents to let their kids know that this world is under surveillance. Any action they do will be recorded and can follow them their whole lives. It must be hard to grow up in this world. Not saying these actions aren’t horrible. I just believe most of us posting judgement grew up in a world with way more 2nd chances.

Hard to grown up in this world?

Don't be a racist. Pretty easy. Doesn't matter if there is a cell phone recording or not.

Yep, let's not teach them that this behavior is wrong, and that equality and tolerance of the beliefs of others (especially in regards to race and religion) is important. Let's teach them be careful what you say and do in public, because somebody might be filming. If your a good person, and be respectful of others, you don't have to worry about somebody filming you being a jackwagon. It's those behaviors and beliefs that suck. Not everyone having cameras and filming what people do.

Right. :lol2:

It’s pretty simple, don’t be racist. Cameras are irrelevant.

Man you can’t say anything on here without people jumping on you. Yes racism is wrong, just saying I bet a few of you out there did some dumb things when cameras were not rolling. It’s a different world. Jeeez

There are millions of kids that live in the same era of cameras that aren’t doing things like this.

Yes, this is a bad case. School culture has run astray yes. Racism is bad, teach your kids not to be racist, seemed obvious to me but yes. But if you think this would be a story without cell phone cameras you are delusional. You did not grow up with everything you did that was dumb sprayed across the internet.

Nothing you said means it is harder to grow up today because of the internet. Know how to avoid your “mistakes” being all over the internet? Don’t be racist.

Nobody on here has ever done anything dumb or stupid before apparently, so they wouldn't know.

It's a different world because racism is no longer acceptable behavior. There was a time, not all that long ago, that a situation like this wouldn't have been a problem or raised an eyebrow....whether it was being filmed or not. Cameras don't make it more difficult to grow up nowadays. Cameras make it harder to avoid being outed as a jerk.

You’re right. I’ve never been a racist. Because the people around me would never condone it.
