November 13, 200619 yr The only teams that really would have an argument IMO are USC and Florida. Both of those teams fell to conference foes midseason. Arkansas might end up with one loss, but it was a blowout to USC. Notre Dame might end up with one loss, but it was a convincing one to Michigan. I am discounting Rutgers because I don't think they will win out. I am with RockPride that I just don't think that a rematch OSU-Mich game will be good for the fans and therefore the game. It takes the sizzle out of the month of December anticipation. "We've just seen this . . ." and so on and so forth. I kind of disagree. Florida lost to an Auburn team that has now lost two games at home and one of them was to a none ranked team. Now if USC wins out I agree they would be deserving then, because they have played alot of top ranked teams...Now for Notre Dame well if they win out and end the year by beating the #3 team USC at USC it would be hard to keep them out. I know Notre Dame does have one lost but it did come to the #2 team in the country which is better than any of the other 1 lost teams. So I think they would have a strong argument as well. Its going to be really interesting to see how this season plays out and who is in the title game...

Beating USC would be impressive, but, much as I love our nation's service academies, beating Navy, Air Force, and Army down the stretch isn't going to get you much on your football resume.
November 13, 200619 yr When reading all the post it sometimes get contradictory because people are saying the Ohio State and Michigan is the best teams in the nations right now but whichever school loses is out. I thought that there were no playoffs in college and that the best two teams in the BCS should play for the National Championship. Because one will lose doesn't mean that they still won't be the best two teams. Also I read a post about the fans wouldn't like a rematch. Please do not include me in this because most or all Ohio State or Michigan fans would like this, it is what side of the fence you're standing on and right now we are on the right side.

Do you feel the same way about KY HS football? Are you happy that the 2 4A Lousiville powers meet prior to the finals now? Or is that different?
November 13, 200619 yr Consider this scenario: If Michigan wins and Notre Dame ends up with one loss, it could be a Michigan-Notre Dame rematch. Just because they played at the beginning of the season this would be more palatable? The Texas rematch is out of the picture for OSU since they lost on Saturday, but I don't think people would be complaining about that if it had happened. Is it the proximity of the game to the National Title game, the fact that the Big Ten does not have a conference championship game, or that one of the teams will have lost their last game of the season?
November 13, 200619 yr So you'd put ND in over UM if tO$U wins a close one in the Shoe in this situation... It depends on one's view of a rematch. If I had to guess, a rematch will be frowned upon by the voters because it leaves open the possibility of each team having won one game. Who's the best then? Obviously, UM has an advantage over ND because of head-to-head. However, if you're going to eliminate one team from the NC for having lost to the other team, that would seem to be in conflict with a "rematch" scenario.
November 13, 200619 yr I've been saying this for several weeks. Barring a blowout they definitely deserve a rematch and this past weekend of upsets only helped solidify that!
November 13, 200619 yr I stopped here. Hilarious... That is pretty funny. Especially since LSU has 2 losses. And if Arkansas and Southern Cal both have 1 loss, the Trojans won 50-14 in Fayetteville. Personally, I don't think the Ohio State-Michigan loser should get a shot. If you don't win your conference you should be eliminated from consideration. However, since that is not a rule, if they do play again I would not have a complaint.

November 13, 200619 yr Hey RP. Just a question. Why is the KHSAA playoff system bad, and a title game without the best two teams good? Walking contradiction... :walk: There's a playoff.....other teams have a say. And nobody has ever said that any system with the letters BCS is good.
