Jace Ganshirt picks off a pass from Cecil to stop the Birds' last effort.

The Colonels sweep the Birds for the first time since '94.

Next for Cov Cath: @ LexCath

Congrats to Highlands on another fine season. :thumb:

Who would have thought they could beat them 2 times in 3 weeks.

Great collective win.

Hopefully we can get Castaneda back next week.

Huge win. I'm a bit suprised at this one.

I just got back home, so I missed the game. I wish the score was flip-flopped, but we can't have everything.

Congrats to CovCath, good luck the rest of the way.

Well, tough loss for the 'Birds. Congrats to CCH (God I HATE saying that again). It sounds like (uggg!) the better team won.

Start preparing for 2007 'Birds!

Thoughts:

1. Not the greatest atmosphere because of the weather I guess.

2. Dare I type it but Highlands was kind of boring on offense. Not bad, just kind of ho-hum.

3. CovCath had every chance to put this one away in the second half and just didn't. And they didn't use the clock wisely.

4. Never saw Highlands punt the ball as poorly as they did today.

5. Both teams have nice closing speed on defense.

Congratulations on an IMPRESSIVE win! Keep playing like that and you have a great chance to bring the hardware home. I didn't think the defense could shut the birds down but they must have taken it up a notch, which is what champions do when challenged. Birds, thanks for a fun season and good luck to the seniors.

Anyone have a scoring line?

Also, how was the attendance for this game with the weather being poor?

Thats probably because they don't punt that often!

Brown scored from 1.

Sutton scored on a 60 yard reception(He showed very good speed.)

HHS scored right before the half (maybe Cecil or Kramer)

12-7 at half.

CCH intercepted the ball ont he first play of the 2nd half and ran it back for a TD but it was called back for a block in the back.

CCH FG made it 15-7.

Bleser scored on a 10-15 yard run making it 22-7.

CCH Fg made it 25-7.

HHS scored on 1-yd run by Kramer (I think) and got the 2 pt conversion to make it 25-15.

4. Never saw Highlands punt the ball as poorly as they did today.

.

..and it was accentuated by Bleser's major league punts.

Great game and what a great effort by Brandon Brown. Brandon had a rushing TD, an interception that he returned 60 yards for a TD that was brought back to the 20, had about 10 tackles on defense not to mention being "The" guy on kick-offs and punts with Joe Casteneda being out. Also had around 15 carries on the offensive side of the ball.

The score does not show how much CovCath dominated the Team From Ft. Thomas today. If Pop makes those long Field Goals in the first half, this game is over early.

The block in the back call when Brown scored his TD was the correct call, however the pass interference call on Brown in the 4th quarter was a bad, bad call.

I couldn't understand why the Team from Ft. Thomas kicked short in the first game, and I don't understand why CovCath kicked short in this game....

Josh had a ton of time to pass all day and did the smart thing when on two different plays he just tucked the ball under his arm and ran.

Great game by CovCath special teams and DB's especially when Joe C was out.

CovCath played soft on the "O" side in the 4th quarter not wanting to give up a easy score but it did allow the Team from Ft. Thomas to try to make a comeback.

Raw, windy, and misty day, meaning a great day for football. Something about CovCath playing the Team from Ft. Thomas in this kind of weather that brings out the best in the Colonel's

Congrats to the Team from Ft. Thomas on a great season, and I know if the game had gone the other way, I would be rooting on the Team from Ft. Thomas against LexCath.

Go Colonel's
