Bottom line.. anyone from Cincinnati knows to stay away from downtown late at night....Cincinnati did not earn the 18th most dangerous city ranking (just released report) for nothing. I know several people who won't let their wifes even park down there. (Remember huge commercial area, lots of jobs). Walking any bridge down there, that late, that dark.. not a smart idea. Maybe its just me because im from Cincinnati, but I learned at a young age, where to go and where not and at what times.

Very true. When I was in junior high school, back in the stone ages and before suburban malls, my friends and I would take the bus downtown on a Saturday afternoon and spend the day and go to lunch.

 

I would not allow my teenage daughter to go downtown with friends in the daytime, much less at night. A few times my husband and I have been down there at night, I was very uncomfortable, and I am no chicken.

 

It is really too bad. Those of us old enough to remember when Cincinnati was a nice place to go (remember the old Shillitos at Christmas?) cant help but be sad.

 

Columbus has one of the best and safest downtown areas around I have seen anywhere. Two areas so close, and yet so different. Wonder what the difference is? Seems like Cincinnati's city council has been floundering and bickering for years, and accomplishing very little.

I went to Denver downtown and there isn't a "bad part" of the city at all downtown. It seemed just as safe at night as it did in the daytime.

I avoid downtown Cincinnati even in the day time when I'm by myself. At the time, I had just graduated from high school and worked for a bank at 4th and Walnut. I was walking to my car parked near Cinergy Stadium (during daylight) when a crazy nut of a man decided follow me. I hope I never, ever see him again as along as I live. I can't say on here what I would do.

I believe between Cincy, Dayton, Cleveland and Columbus you have 4 top 50 of the most dangerous cities in the US. I think Youngstown is in there too. Whats up with Ohio?

Perhaps so, but regardless it's still about choices, free education is hard to turn down. But I guess it's not about how you make your money to some people, it's just about showing off that you have some, with the bling.

I've walked across that bridge several times at night, a couple by myself and a couple with my g/f, however it was always after Reds games so there was a huge crowd..
