Johnson Central may win, but will have a hard time running the ball on Rock. Rockcastle County does a better job than anyone in the state on rushing defense.

 

Please no one try and compare Bryan Station and Lincoln County. Bryan Station was as bad as it gets in 4A and Lincoln County was 10-2 and had one of the most dynamic backfields I have seen all year.

 

Johnson Central's best chance would be to do what Lincoln did to Rock and most everyone else they played. Jump out to an early 14-0 or 21-0 lead with big plays and try to grind out the game from there.

Or out scouted... Word to the wise, if Johnson Central signals plays in on either side of the ball they need to go to the wrist band or run the plays in this week.

I do agree that SOS can be a determining factor, but the two teams(JC and RC) are only seperate by 4 wins, its not that big of a deal...

Seriously! How many times have we went over JC's schedule this football season here on BGP. There have been countless people that have came on here and posted JC's opponents combined record vs. everyone's else's opponents combined record , all of it is irrelevent. We weren't supposed to beat Ashland the first time either because we had played a weak schedule, we all know how that turned out.

 

Has JC played a weak schedule? Yes. Has it hurt them so far? No. They are 12-0 and playing for a regional championship on Friday. What more could they have possibly done so far this football season. I think it's time to throw the weak schedule stuff out the door.

I'm not going back through all those posts to see what others have said about you. The point is, regardless of who you've played this year and how good they are, you haven't faced a defense like the Rock's.

 

In 2001 Ashland and Arliss Beach came to the Rock and all we heard about was how we couldn't stop him. The first half, they were right. We scored a TD just before the half to make it 14-7. He ran all over us. But what did he do in the second half??? Zero, zilch, nada!! We ended up winning, I believe it was, 28-14. You can about bet the farm that JC will have to throw this week if they intend to win. We won't let Grim beat us. And we can defend the pass too. Clay Co. was averaging over 400 yards passing the first time we played them. Bell Co. had a spread offense this past Friday. It didn't work for either of them.

 

Maybe JC will win. It would shock me that much. After all, you're supposed to. But on Friday if you realize that you can't move the ball like you have against every team so far this year, don't be surprised.

You are the one who had to take a shot at him on this thread. Didn't think it was all that funny. You obviously aren't aware that football is a TEAM sport and he guided his TEAM to their only playoff appearance. They have done anything since with numerous QBs.

He was amazing. If Ashland would have been able to throw that game, I truly believe they would have won. But they couldn't and Rock found a way to get to Arliss before he could get moving. I don't think either of these backs is an Arliss Beach, but Miller and Grimm and solid. This should be a good ball game, not a lot of scoring IMHO.

Whooo! Chill out, the statement you quoted form me wasn't directed at you I only quoted it because it was the first one I saw talking about JC's weak schedule. Don't really understand where you are going with the remarks about a game against Ashland in 2001. What because the stopped Beach 5 years ago they are going to win the game Friday night.

Then you started complaining out how I'm being redundant and stating the same thing that people have stated all year. I know the game is played on grass and not paper. Somebody pointed out how Bell was averaging 28 points a game and we shut them out. One of JC's supporters said so what, 28 points is our lowest output of the year. I'm saying that 28 points may be your lowest output, but that's easy to do if you play weaker teams. You haven't put up those numbers against a team like our's. I have no idea whether or not you were supposed to beat Ashland. From what I hear, if Ashland could hold on to the ball, we wouldn't even be having this discussion anyway. I'm sure our coaches will look at the film from what they did and see how they shut Grim down and duplicate or improve on that game plan.

I don't think me saying that we have talked about JC's schedule many times and stating that their weak schedule hasn't hurt them so far is starting anything with you. I was making a point to debate on, not a personal attack on you.

35-21 huh? That's an interesting prediction since we haven't given up 35 points all year. That's even including Lincoln and Harrison counties. Are you aware that even with your weak schedule, as you admit to having, that Rock has only given up 18 more points at this point in the season? The same Ashland team that gave you your toughest challenge yet has given up 80 more than us. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of that.
