Before you ask...Scott County and Pendleton County turned down the invitation.

Ok, I can understand why PC would decline, but what is the reason behind SC, is it the Myrtle Beach deal or is there more to it.

Any 9th region teams invited?

Ok, I can understand why PC would decline, t.

Why would they decline? Conflict?

I would only guess because their supporting cast for Allen will be subpar.

I remember watching Jon Hood's Madisonville team play in the LIT one year — I think he was a junior then. It was hard to watch because he had no supporting cast whatsoever and DeSales dragged them all over the court. They won 20+ games and took their district that year, but I remember being surprised at the time that they actually did that and won a game in the region. They were sub-.500 his senior year, and I may have seen them then as well, so my memories may be mixing. They were in the LexCath tourney and the KOB his senior year, and I saw his team then as well.

Curious if Jackson Harlan and Clinton County was considered at all?

We try to watch teams throughout the year...who they played, who they return and how far they must travel. You can't have to many teams from a long distance. I am sure that Jackson, Harlan and Clinton County are very good but they were not a good fit this year.

We call Coach Hicks every year and he declines without hesitation. Two years ago, "It's two far." We had three schools pass through Scott County (I-64) on thier trip to Fairdale. This year, "My schedule is full. We are going to Myrtle Beach (which he does every year and it is after Christmas) and the City of Palms (same time as KOB) as of today they were not in the City of Palms.

Pendleton County didn't think Allen needed any more exposure. In my opinion I think it is the best exposure a player can get. Every game is televised, and the % of players that went on to be Mr. Basketball in the past 38 years is extremely high.

These are the only two Kentucky schools in years that have turned down and invitation.

3 8th region teams, Has there ever been 3 from the 8th region in one year? I understand the Davion Mcnight from Collins, and Miles from WV, little surprised by Spencer getting the invite, been a while since they have been to the region, surprised Oldham or South Oldham would not get the nod over them, or even Simon Kenton with there super sophomore..... Just curious, but great for the 8th

Sounds like Scott County dodges KOB annually. Wonder why that is?

So in other words, no Clinton County wasnt considered cause the guy thought you was talking about Jackson County, Harlan or Harlan County and Clinton County. He didn't realize you was talking about Clinton County and Jackson Harlan the player who will more than likely lead the state in scoring this season.

I do agree though they wouldn't be a big draw at the K.O.B. and that would be over a 2 hour drive easily probably more for Clinton County fans.

I seen on twitter last week that Brentwood Academy got a big time transfer top 20 in his class it said, I can't remember the name of the kid or what class though but they were showing clips of him and Fitzgerald in summer games. He was younger than Fitzgerald.
