As we will be surprised with Spencer players, which maybe we will, can we not be surprised by what Shelby has at guard?? They have the best Frosh in the district, Secori Toole, and the Griffin kid can shoot it with anyone Spencer has, even Cole!! Get Cole out of corner and let’s see what happens. I stopped by Shelby practice today and read entire thread to them and man they went that much harder. I like Spencer and there team but I feel like I am arguing against the Houston Rockets when in reality we are discussing the Orlando Magic.

Is the Whitlock the PG or the wing? I hope every kid stays healthy, even Burns with all this pressure you are putting on him. Not sure if teams look at it but I am making sure Shelby does so they can use it!! Anderson needs all the motivation they can get. Coach Ryan Huat is suppose to be a great coAch at Anderson and they will play hard for him. Gonna be a fun season.

There will he battles with all 4 teams. Please provide facts on why Spencer should be on same level as Collins. This is great bulletin board material for the Rockets. I think all 4 will battle. Lots of people sleeping on Shelby. Lots of size down low to deal with.

I think Spencer is good, but let’s not pretend that Conley is not the best player they have and have had for a long time. You take him away and Spencer is not in discussion. The Pg is good, however, undersized, and the 2 shooters are solid high school players but very wirey and have not proven they can do more than spot up shoot. You don’t have to be so defensive while you throw so much shade at Collins. Spencer has had major improvement with the transfer they got and I know they almost got another from Henry that would have made them a ton better. I am one of the guys that thanks Spencer could have a big year, but if your wanting us to anoint Burns COY for an 0-5 post season record, not going to happen. Let’s just agree that the battles in the 30th will all be good, and even though you don’t see Shelby as a threat they have a great shooting Soph, a solid Pg that is a Frosh named Toole,who I would stack up against Spencer’s any day of the week, and Gordon, tingle, and TJ down low which you will have absolutely no answer for!!!

Wow, Cardsrule, shots fired at CoCh Gairher at Collins. You stated that you don’t think he could do the same as coach Burns with the talent level Spencer has in last 5 years????? What has Burns done? Has he beat Gairher? Has he won a tourney game? What is it that you are looking for? Yes, Burns has a good rep, but let’s be honest, is Burns even in this discussion if a certain player does not “transfer” from Shelby to Spencer? So not sure you can play the transfer card...

Who has more pressure to win this year? WV, Collins, or Burns at Spencer??

Man, Y’all making Gairher at Collins look like Phil Jackson. He seems to have upper hand with great guards and Spencer having no true region experience and Anderson losing a ton of players. How does Shelby feel about this? Can they sneak up on anyone. Does Spencer have an inside presence? I realize they are guard heavy and Conley is a stud on the wing, but rebounding and post defense may be an issue. Not much meat on that team? Who do they have that can guard Gordon at Shelby or Miles If they play WV in region. I would speak on Anderson but I don’t know one player they have. The one kid I do know hurt his knee in football and Huat said he was out for the year.

La Rams coach, Sean Mcvay is a great new first time cosch, maybe Anderson’s Guy, Ryan Huat (think that is his name) will do the same. Never know. But the 30th will be fun.

Yes Big V, I agree, after looking at there schedule I imagine they will. You guys can’t be happy with that schedule. That’s like y’all are playing an entire season of exhibition games.

I just think every school should play every other school at least once and district teams 2x. Kind of like conference play in college. I would love for WV tonllau some teams around 30th district more so we could see the Miles kid. Does anyone have info on the EDWARDS kid at Collins. Is he eligible. If Anderson wins 5 games Hyatt for COY.

I realize that Anderson has always scheduled down and not played any comp, but I don’t think I have seen Walton play many of the Shelby schools, Anderson, or Spencer for last few years? Who are they playing, do they stay up north? Any louisivlle schools? Oldhams? Other than KOB I never see or hear of them during season.

Probably right. I may be wrong, I watched them at KOB and Miles was hurt and I did not see much else. I have seen Shelby guys lately and they have chance to be good. Bryan Hyat at Anderson does not have one single game of head coaching experience and he got left a raw deal this year, especially with arguably his best player being injured from football. May be a tough 3 years for this new comer

If the Edwards kid is ever cleared, which I hear he is, at Collins, that adds a 6’8 presence in the middle. At shelby he was not great offensively but good defender and rebounder, 2 things that they really needed. However, with TJ Robinson staying at shelby after being denied transfer to Collins, Shelby May have best front court in region with Robinson, 6’5 sophomore Gordon and 6’3 JR Tingle. They will however be very young at guard.

Aau makes some better, yes. And before you start talking about how collins is treating Shelby, let’s not forget the whole Conley situation either???? Aau serves its purposes, but I believe 25% of aau coaches are actually teaching basketball while 75% are rolling the ball out. I would venture to say that most high school coaches are not fans of aau coaches most of the time. Tons of bad habits, lack of defense and lack of control on the offensive side. However, there are some great coaches as well. Not a homer of Collins, they are solid this year for sure, at the guard spot for sure, while Miles at WV is the best post player. Go Bears!!

You can’t judge high school ball off AAU. I disagree there. I think Walton and Collins are both good, however Collins seems to not have the support of the board in there own town, so you never know what might happen there. South will always be there cause Simpson is the best coach in the region. North is staring some real young kids. Not sure on Oldham. I do know cards guy loves Spencer and one day when they make it to region he is going to have a heck of a party. I think Spencer will go as far as Conley can take them, but I sure would like to see them make a region before we start putting them in top 4/5 region. The 6’4 Sr at Shelby County would be top 7 player in the region on the right team this year, the kid flat out plays with more heart than anyone and has never been in an ounce of trouble. So to answer if anyone from shelby could help Collins or anyone else the answer is Yes

1. The bigger kid, has been enrolled and is at school at Collins. He is 6’7 and not great offensively but I think what Collins needed. It gives them a defensive presence around the rim. The coach at Collins will have ready. 2. The other party went to Collins and from what I was told was denied. Supposively there is more to come to this story and is a very sore subject in the town and at the BOE. More to come later, things changing daily. The sophomore transfer is there and enrolled and will be a solid piece.

Yes both ex-Shelby big men were at Collins for 1st day. I have no idea if they are cleared to play.

I think Collins has solid guards, and with additions will have some great presence downlow. I won’t go into lineups until rosters are sorted out, but that will be a great matchup. I don’t think anyone in the region can hold Miles, and not sure anyone can hold McKnight either. Do they play regular season? Guess they could meet in KOB

Heck yeah, in Shelby. Seems crazy!! Atleast coaches get there rosters early.

Collins about to be loaded in 8th. In what could be major 8th region basketball news I am hearing that 2 seniors from Shelby County, Both solid big man, one 6’7, and the other a work horse at 6’4, could transfer across town and put Collins into top 10 territory in the state. School starts tomorrow so we should know soon. Side note, they got a heck of a sophomore who moved in also Go Collins, Go Krogering.

Trinity ended up winning with a 20 point victory. Overall good tourney. I believe it was Larue they beat in champ game. St X is missing a lot of size. Johnson on Trinity did not play particularly good in game I watched but you could see he could do basically whatever he wanted. North Oldham very young. Collins is a team to watch once Vail is back healthy and all the transfers coming are Ok'ed.
