So in other words, no Clinton County wasnt considered cause the guy thought you was talking about Jackson County, Harlan or Harlan County and Clinton County. He didn't realize you was talking about Clinton County and Jackson Harlan the player who will more than likely lead the state in scoring this season.

 

I do agree though they wouldn't be a big draw at the K.O.B. and that would be over a 2 hour drive easily probably more for Clinton County fans.

I understand it would be a long drive for fans I was just curious if they had consideration. I don’t believe the distance would’ve made a difference with a tournament as prestigious at the KOB. Clinton would’ve brought a big crowd but I do understand. Hopefully with Glasgow’s junior class they get a look for next season. Always fun to get to see local teams on that stage

 

Found it, Randy Brady is the new kid at brentwood academy. Looks like he plays AAU for Team Thad, same program that KyKy Tandy plays for.

 

Future150 has Brady ranked 15th nationally in 2021 class, says he has offer from Georgia Tech & Florida State.

 

Nice addition to the K.O.B. field. Seems the Nashville teams always fare well at the K.O.B. with Brentwood Academy recent success and the success that Christ Presbyterian Academy had.

3 8th region teams, Has there ever been 3 from the 8th region in one year? I understand the Davion Mcnight from Collins, and Miles from WV, little surprised by Spencer getting the invite, been a while since they have been to the region, surprised Oldham or South Oldham would not get the nod over them, or even Simon Kenton with there super sophomore..... Just curious, but great for the 8th

 

I think the people that put on the King of the Bluegrass just don't look at how you have done in the past. Spencer County has three of the top Sophomores in the state that all start on that team. This is an up and coming team. I think they also try to get teams in there that have young talent. Also, two very good seniors returning. If you go by just starting five Spencer County has the most returning talent in the 8th region. Stats back that up. Transfers can always effect teams (Collins getting a few and maybe some on other teams). Don't discount Spencer County unless you actually have followed them. Apparently the people putting together the KOB see something.

Good point but also as the K.O.B. poster on here stated, they can't have that many teams from out in the state. They want people who are going to be crowds, this is probably the first time Spencer County has been in the K.O.B. and it is a 30-45 minute drive for their fans.

Excellent point. Spencer County has never sniffed the KOB. 75% of Spencer County will be there. I can guarantee you that. Spencer County has never had the talent that they have at this moment so it should be a great ride for their fans the next couple of years.

I am not knocking any kids and I believe Spencer will have a solid team. But what have they done or shown to warrant this respect. Spencer needs to get out of the district before they start getting to excited.

I remember watching Jon Hood's Madisonville team play in the LIT one year — I think he was a junior then. It was hard to watch because he had no supporting cast whatsoever and DeSales dragged them all over the court. They won 20+ games and took their district that year, but I remember being surprised at the time that they actually did that and won a game in the region. They were sub-.500 his senior year, and I may have seen them then as well, so my memories may be mixing. They were in the LexCath tourney and the KOB his senior year, and I saw his team then as well.

Like to see Spencer win the 8th with them once to see their crowd at Rupp, be hard next couple years though with Collins and Woodford joining before long.

Prephoops.com--- you have to have a membership to see their rankings but Conley is ranked 13 and Whitlock is ranked 26.

 

The third sophomore to be is Lucas Hornback. He plays with the Louisville Prospects AAU team and has been tearing it up this summer. Come watch a scrimmage and you will immediately see why he is considered a top sophomore. He just hasn't been on the AAU circuit until now. Rick Bolus has him on his watch list. Before you discredit a team please have some knowledge about that team. Spencer County also starts senior Jackson Cole who was 5th in the state in three pointers made last year in the state. Senior guard Jacob Seawright has had a very good summer with the Louisville Spartans AAU program. Spencer County doesn't have size but they have 5 legit knock down three point shooters. They are also not deep. They will compete with anybody in the eighth region. I'm pretty sure about that. Collins would be my favorite though due to transfers.

 

Congrats to the team and the kids that are ranked; but please don't put a lot of stock into a Rick Bolus ranking. I'm sure the kids are good and will be for the next few years.

I have seen Conley ranked, but I cant find the other 2 ranked anywhere, nor have I heard of them all summer. I believe I saw them play last year, one had a broke arm, not sure which one. But showing me a watch list, come on man. Ky soph class is loaded, and has a ton of talent, and while those kids may be good ball players, they are not ranked on any site that I have seen. You don't have to do my homework for me, I don't know much about Spencer other than people tell me Conley is a beast. I will go and look and see if I can find those other 2 on any list of rankings. I hope they are there and I hope Spencer is solid, because they are due. Let me go and do some homework and I will get back with ya. thank you...
