00Rocket28
Seems like a very humble kid. Good for him. Tua appeared to be genuinely happy for him...Haskins..not so much.

jvdfc
I thought he wouldn't get it because he's stated he will not play NFL football but opt for baseball. Just a feeling I had. I'm surprised really.

dognation2
Tua lost the Heisman trophy because on the deciding night of voting he played against the 13th ranked defense in football; while Haskins played the 62nd ranked defense and Murray went against the 68th ranked defense. I wouldn't have had a problem with Murray, Haskins, or Tua winning. I think they all had deserving seasons. But the above is the reason that Tua lost. The Double Deuce
Pretty easy call. I thought so, but there were a lot of "Tua and it won't be close" posters over the last 7 days in the other thread. Tua lost the Heisman last Saturday night vs Georgia, fairly or not, that is how it went down.

I was one of those, but I said that was my opinion, not that it's what would happen. I stand by that statement, it was Tua's in a landslide, IMO. That being said, Kyler had a fantastic year as well, and I have no problem with him winning.
dognation2
There is real Alabama fatigue in college football. Tua opened himself up to losing the Heisman trophy against Georgia. That being said; Kyler's toughest defenses were Army, TCU, and Iowa State. I shutter to think what Bama and Tua would do against those defenses. Obviously Georgia was the best defense any of the 3 faced in the championship games, but he had just didn’t play well. Kyler never had a bad game. Tua only had 1 bad game, but having 1 bad game was enough to cost Tua the heisman.

Tua stats against those teams wouldn’t have been better than Kyler’s though. They wouldn’t have been worse either. Tua put up big numbers against bad defenses too. The two redzone picks and one dropped had something to do with it in a championship game, where the backup bailed him out?
The Double Deuce
This, IMO, is why Kyler won it. You and Dognation2 may well be onto something, but the irony is, since 2000, Oklahoma now has 4 Heisman winners, and Alabama only has 2 (and one of those with the 2nd lowest percentage of possible points during that span).
