Time for a little off season banter. I stated in another thread, with the recent class realignment, I think 5A is MUCH stronger than 6A. Yes, I'm aware 6A has Trinity. But I'm curious, if you had to play the Top 10 6A Schools vs the Top 10 5A schools, how would it play out? Is there any way 6A would be over .500? I don't see 6A winning more than 2 or 3 games. Adding Scott County, Fredrick Douglas, Cooper, Connor, and Johnson Central to 5A makes 1-10 LOADED! Who can make a case for 6A?

5A is by far the best class overall next year and I don’t think it is close.

Trinity, St.X, and Male will be tough. Manual will be much improved and tough. I’m not sure about what Simon Kenton has coming back. 5A is deeper 1-10, I think.

I agree. The top 3-4 is better in 6A, the rest are better in 5A.

SK will be good over 30 plus Seniors next year.

Yeah, that's what I thought also. It would be fun to see Johnson Central compete in 5A though.

I'll take South Warren and Bowling Green over any 6A in the West.

 

I think there are a lot of others who would complete for the last 4 spots in 5A and they would all beat their respective 6A teams (Cooper, Owensboro, South Oldham, Anderson County, Southwestern, Montgomery County).

I get what you're saying because football is a single elimination sport. 5A definitely has some great teams at the top and those battles will be exciting I'm sure. I'm still going to take the top 3 in 6A as H, T, and X in any particular order over any other top 3. A Central or a Manual or Cov Cath or BG can compete year in and year out with those top 6A teams and usually can dominate a game with the 5+ ranked 6A teams. Those top three are flagship programs for the state for a reason.

 

How long before the dead horse gets beaten in this thread about too many classes? Let me start because 5 classes would solve a lot of this and we wouldn't have to drop to 4.
